Ferstler Slim Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Not a fan of watching people use live bait. I hate fishing jigs because i'm so terrible at it but know how critical being competent with them is. Dave Quote
Fish Chris Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Not a fan of watching people use live bait. Uhhh.... has anybody ever sat you down and made you watch them use live bait ? LOL To be totally frank, I believe you have been brainwashed into believing things about live bait fishing, which simply are not true. Personally, I love fishing live bait..... and would do it even more, if their were not so many situations where artificial lures make it easier to catch a monster bass. What really amuses me, are the guys (purists) who pat themselves on the back, because they only use artificial lures..... Uhhhh.... Okay. If I could only use live bait 'OR' artificial lures, I'd choose the latter myself, as I'm sure I'd catch more giants this way. However, I've always felt that by leaving all options open, I can maximize the odds of sticking a big one, which is the whole reason I'm out there in the first place. Peace, Fish PS, Come to think about it, I guess I'm not really a fan of watching people use live bait either.... especially if they are catching fish, and all I can do is watch ;D Quote
Jason Penn Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Deep structure fishing. I'm horrible at it!!! This would include deep cranking and c-rigs. Luckily most of the places I fish doesn't require it. If I don't have something to cast or pitch to I feel pretty lost. There's a small lake not far from me that the state of MO built a few years ago. It's basically a bowl sitting on top of land. No trees around it so the wind has to be less than 6-7 mph, very minimal cover, just a couple of docks. It's 10' max depth and it has ridges run across in spots that come up to 1.5'. I know theres nice fish in there, I have a buddy that fishes it alot and catches fish up to 8 lbs. I just can't get into the place. It's just not as fun to me as pitchin a jig or t-rig plastic to a nice big laydown. Quote
Chaz Hickcox Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Senko's ..... I'd rather watch paint dry. X INFINITY!! Dead sticking a senko has to be the most retardedly slow and boring way to fish. I might as well get a tub of minnows and a bobber! Quote
Super User Darren. Posted January 26, 2011 Super User Posted January 26, 2011 Count me in with the crank bait crowd... Loads more success with soft plastics and live baits. Quote
Hamby Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Count me in with the crank bait crowd... Loads more success with soft plastics and live baits. I don't catch much on crankbaits due to the lake i fish being very weedy and not very deep. But, i also don't fish them much either so what do i know. BUT, i love a good crankbait bite. I love throwing them on a hard bottom...one second you hit a rock and the next the rock is swimming away. It catches me by surprise every time and really gets me pumped. I almost always get the small guys doing this so i throw them on a light spinning rod and it's a lot of fun. Quote

banned-for-spamming-0923874 Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 For me it's fenisse fishing with light lines and tiny baits. I like power fishing something fast that you can cover a lot of water and on 50 lb. braid. The only slow technique I like is Deadsticking. Quote
zero Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 senkos for sure i cannot get at least 5 fish on senkos but i can get 5+ fishes on worms and fineese like d.s. spilt shot Quote
Hellbenderman Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 There is one thing I really hate. I hate it because it shows that bass are really stupid, and not the intellectual giants of the pond we make them out to be, and thus it lessens any accolades we may heap on ourselves for catching such a non-cunning foe. It makes us stupid, too. I speak of the @#&^% buzz bait. I feel stupid every time my partner catches a bass on a buzz bait....just hate those things. That's why I only have six or seven. Quote
