Boss Hogg Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Let me tell you this story.a buddy of mine is a big bass fisherman well some of the guys from work would tell me he has more fishing gear then carter has liver pills. He has combos from 100 dollars up to 1000 dollars no lie. I remember a time I'm sitting a work he just came back from savannah and showed me this reel. I asked how much he payed for it and he said 550 I'm like your wife is going to kill you lol he said no she said I could get it now that's a good wife lol. But anyway long story short. he bought him a new house and asked me if I would help him with some unpacking and help him set his man cave up with his fishing gear. Well the first time I went over there we couldn't get into the grage to get any of his stuff. Well the second time I went over I seen everythinf rod and reels everywhere tackle boxs and bags big totes full of stuff I couldn't belive how much stuff he had.but anyway you know how if you help some one they give you money? Well in my case lol I work for fishing gear with him. Hey you can't beat that right so everytime I help him I get fishing stuff so I don't have to pay for it. Quote
Hamby Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 But can the guy fish? My dad used to work with a guy that did nothing but collect fishing gear. He'd always be showing my dad some new "hot" lure or reel. He was a garbage fisherman, ha ha. Quote
Boss Hogg Posted January 23, 2011 Author Posted January 23, 2011 He fishes all the time he has to boats I'm trying to buy one off of him. Where ever there is water and he might think bass are in there he will fish it don't matter where its at lol. Ya I'm getting a lot of stuff and a baitcast combo from him tomorrow I hope Quote

I will be at the range and this guy will come up with a brand new $1500 dollar rig and his groups will be all over the place. Quote

Last time I heard that was from my mother & I'm 62 yrs old. Did you hear from your grandparents? Yeah, I haven't heard that expression since about forever. I always assumed it had something to do with the Carter administration-though it never made sense in that context. Just now looked it up and, assuming my source is correct, the expression originated from a Mr. Samuel Carter of Erie, PA who sold a laxative whose slogan claimed the pills would "wake up your liver bile." I have a buddy who fishes less than a tenth of what I do and yet he still has 3 times more tackle than me. Go figure. Quote

A old man was named carter and they made the road I use to live on they named it after him. Plus you hear a lot of talk like that around here lol. So some of you guys don't. Make your self feel so old. If I could turn back time I would love to live in the old days Quote
