Super User Sam Posted January 6, 2011 Super User Posted January 6, 2011 Fished One Fish Anna tournament in October and got a bad backlash in my Curado 100D. So I took it off the rod and replaced it with another baitcaster and all was well. Until I got back to the ramp and looked in the rod locker for the reel and the reel was gone. I searched the boat and no reel. I just could not find the baitcaster anywhere on the boat and chalked it up to someone stealing it from the rod locker. Got home; unloaded the boat; searched it again; put all rods, reels; baits away; and no reel. So I summarised that it somehow went overboard. But I knew I remember placing it in the rod locker so it bothered me that somehow the boat ate the reel. Today, I am taking stuff to Goodwill that was in the garage. So when I am taking inventory of the junk I find not only the Curado 100D but my Solstace 2000 and I have no idea how those reels got into a cardboard box in the garage. So glad to have found the reels as you know Shimano does not make the Curado 100D and it has served me very well. Just thought I would let you guys know what happens when you get old and CRS sets in. ;D Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted January 6, 2011 Super User Posted January 6, 2011 It happens to the best of us Sam !!!!!!!!!!! Quote

Blue Streak Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Sorry Sam you have CRS, there is not a cure for it. :'( Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted January 6, 2011 Super User Posted January 6, 2011 Good for you ! However, it sounds like you are in the early stages of CRS. An example of this cruel affliction becoming more acute would include forgetting that you even owned and then lost the Cuardo in the first place . . . . . . . A-Jay Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted January 6, 2011 Super User Posted January 6, 2011 I choose to deny any changes in my mental acuity. I do this by blaming all lost or misplaced items, or otherwise unexplained happenings around my house on my grandchildren. I use this method even when the kids have not been around. Now where did those kids put my keys... Quote
Super User senile1 Posted January 6, 2011 Super User Posted January 6, 2011 I'm glad you found the reel, Sam, but that's pretty weird stuff. Should we expect to see a post from you in the Introduction forum soon? Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted January 6, 2011 Super User Posted January 6, 2011 I haven't (temporarily) lost anything yet...but just today I picked up a rod and thought - I didn't know I had a MH rod in that brand! I guess I got more stuff than I can remember.... ;D Quote
Taylor Fishin 4 life Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Are you sure you lost your reel or are you loosing your mind Quote
CAdeltaLipRipper Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Sir were you slightly intoxicated? ;D Quote

Super User Shane J Posted January 6, 2011 Super User Posted January 6, 2011 Congrats on finding it. That would have drove me nuts! Quote
Hamby Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 The youngins do it too. I blame it on a small case of ADD though. "It was in my hand 5 seconds ago..." I have trouble reading books unless they highly interest me also. You can stop me mid page and i may not be able to tell you what the last paragraph said. Quote
OH-bass614 Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 you guys have got it all wrong this is a classic case of the bait/reel monkey hiding a reel in hopes that the fisherman will buy another to replace it Quote

s13john Posted January 8, 2011 Posted January 8, 2011 haha thats pretty good ill have too keep my eyes open out at the goodwills in RVA for the other reels you might have dropped off. Quote
bigredxlt Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 I dont know, that sounds really shady. Is it possible somebody was messing with you? Because you lost one reel, and by coincidence it turned up in a random box with another lost reel? It really sounds like somebody moved them around without telling you, or your wife felt obligated to clean up/hide your gear. My mom does it all the time only problem is she completely forgets where she puts my stuff Quote
Dinky Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 As I have gotten older my memory has remained very good--it has just gotten shorter. Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 12, 2011 Author Super User Posted January 12, 2011 Big Red, good thinking but I don't think so. Only person who would have done that would have been my son but I doubt he would have done it. Then again......... My wife would not have thought about it but what gets me is that she never saw them in the "empty" box when she put the junk into the box. But she is a natural blonde so you have to expect certain things when you live with a blonde. I have pulled some good ones on him and he has returned the favor during the years but his wife was expecting back in October and he was really up tight. Great responses, guys. I think I will be going to Goodwills to check on iPods and Shimano reels in the future! ;D ;D ;D Quote
