Favorite aspect of Bass Fishing?

What is your favorite aspect about bass fishing?

For me it's definitely trying to figure the bass out.

#1 would be trying to figure them out.

close seconds would simply be the enjoyment of being out on the water. it also depends on what goal/s i have set that day. i may be out trying new things to see how the fish and myself like them. other days i may go out and try to learn the bottom composition on some local lakes. but ultimately , im just trying to figure them out.

For me its about being with someone I enjoy being with, weather its my wife,my son, my brother or a good friend. That's what makes fishing the best for me. I fish by myself many days and its just not the same...

I just enjoy being out on the water, especially at first light, a little mist on the water.  Second would be figuring out what they're hitting on for that day or maybe working on learning a new technique.

For me, its the rush I get when I feel that bass strike the line.  I think that's what keeps us all coming back for more.

Not knowing whats on the end of my line... That's kind of why I hate sight and bed fishing... I know what's coming up! Unless its a tank, then I don't care if I see it or not.

Probably for me, is feeling the strike at the end of the line and not knowing how big the bass  is. Oh and out fishing my dad.

The whole experience. I love being out in the early am while still dark, jitterbug gurgling away, and WHAM comes the strike.

I love hearing the turkeys gobble, water being so still, the bump at end of my line, the anticipation that comes with each cast. All of it. I only started started fishing a few years ago, and now I can't get enough of it. I would go everyday if I could.

#1 for me, would just be, being out on the water, especially on a crisp Spring morning, water flat as glass......

Next would be the adrenalin rush of sticking a monster.....

Or even, sighting a big fish (doesn't matter if it's on a bed, cruising, or just hanging out) and making a cast towards it ! That gets my blood pumping ! {if its a really big fish, sometimes I start shaking } Then, if it shows signs of interests, that brings it up to the next level. Finally, if it actually bites, and I hook it, now the adrenalin is pumping full blast !

Honestly, I think by the time I land it, the adrenalin pump is subsiding.....

But that whole thing is why I fish for bass.... especially big ones.

If i had to pick one, it would be the catching process. Choosing a lure, the color, the size, the place, the retrieve, the rod, the reel, the line. So many factors come it to play when catching a fish that when i catch a fish, I feel like I got everything right. A great sense of satisfaction.

I like hitting the water just before dawn, with nobody else on the water yet and it's as still as glass, then enjoying the sun as it rises and takes the chill off. Nothing better.

Just being out on the water is enough for me.  I'm good with that.  Now, I still get excited just like when I was a kid.  If I'm going on a big trip or something, I'll have trouble sleeping the night before.  Just the thought of catching a huge fish will get my blood moving at warp speed.

For me it is the toys: good reels, good rods, the electronics, the glitter sled, running from one spot to another and trying out my newest creations.

I do my relaxing at home in a soft chair with a cold beverage.

There are so many things I love about fishing, but I gotta say, that the most rewarding, is when I pass some knowledge on to my friends, and they just light up when it works, and they land a hawg.

X2...crossing their eyes is what it's all about, especially when you set on what you immediately know is a big fish.  This is why circle hooks will never be on the end of my line.

The moment between the tick and the hook set. Its the unkown, of a new PB, or a small fish.

Variety is the spice that keeps me going through all the expense and trouble. I think the reason I stop using lures I've finally done well on consistently is that the challenge lessens - been there/done that.

I did well on jig and trailers for consecutive years using pork, but that got old. Now with the new action trailers Zoom and Strike King have come out with, I'm back to trying jigs other ways.

Making soft plastics adds variety of design with theories why bass hit some of my creations. Used to be only big companies fed us new lures in the winter catologs. Now I just meditate on what I want a lure to do and then make it. Catching fish on it is just the icing.

Just the idea that a bass or other fish is attacking my lure with disregard for any danger, makes me thing of a lion attacking an animal it's postitive it can catch and kill. I am part of that chain and sense the uh oh in that fish when it's hooked.

Going to work day after day is a routine. Fishing should never be.
