Lucky Craft Man Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Wind does suck, but in the worst cases, I can usually find somewhere where the water is being shielded from the wind by trees. It's steady/heavy rain I hate. It's miserable to fish in (especially when it's cold) and when I get home, I have to empty out all the compartments in my boat to dry everything. If there is a chance of it raining all day, I don't go fishing. Quote

farmpond1 Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Sometimes I like the wind (if it's pushing the baitfish and the bass where I can find and reach them) but otherwise, it's a pain in the rump. But the exact opposite is quite annoying too-those dead calm days when the sun bakes the shriveling brain in my skull and the fish have gone somewhere I can't find. Quote

Lucky Craft Man Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Winter. I'm surprised to hear you say that. There is nothing better than standing in a stream all alone with snow falling around you, while catching trout. I would assume in upstate New York, there are a lot of beautiful streams to get away on. Quote

NateFollmer Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Wind so bad that you can't get back to the boat launch with your trolling motor, so you end up pulling the boat back. I love fishing in the cold, as long as there is no wind! Quote
