basslover12345 Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Has anyone ever tried lures made by Japanese lure designers such as Seiji Kato who invented lures such as the Jackall TN60 and lures such as "Octopus Flick-Shake." It's three wacky-rigged worms on a single hook, or using two flick shake like a cross at one time because it for volume up and appeal up. Or has anyone ever tried the sasuteki (or "Okeechobee") rig or a PD-Chopper/Ammonite-Shad combo Quote

Super User WRB Posted November 30, 2010 Super User Posted November 30, 2010 Japanese lures have become a mainstay in todays bass fishing. Lucky Craft lures for one example, Gamakatsu and Owner hooks, Shimano and Daiwa reels and FC line. Don't forget Takahiro Omori who brought Japanese fishing presentations and lures to the Elite status. The Japanese took west coast bass fishing to a higher level and set the world record. We all are using Japanese fishing techniques today. WRB Quote

scbassin Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 I have several Tn 60's & fish them regularly. I also fish the Octopus Flick shake. I have caught a few good bass on it but the problem is the Bluegill go for it big time so I don't use it as much. Quote

Unless Page, AZ got moved to Japan, that's a "no, you don't." They're American made baits, as evidenced by the little USA flag on the package. Quote

hmongkidBee Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Seiji Kato was created more than the flick shake lures and such, he was the inventor of the daiwa minnow jerkbait and the lucky craft pointer. Two lures that we don't think much about. Japanese lures just like any other lures have their place and time. My preference is any lure as long as I LIKE IT ;D Quote
