Texasfishingtips Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 We all know its the fishing pen!! I mean, regular rods are over-rated and I don't have the time to use them! With the fish pen I can be ready to fish at a moments notice! Clancy W Quote

Pitchinkid Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I think it would be more fisherman knowledge in general. So much information is available on everything via Internet. Today's fisherman has a gigantic advantage over the past. It seems more anglers are willing to share tips , techniques, and strategies than they would have 5, 10, or 20 years ago. I don't necessarily think one thing has changed the sport, but i think fishermen have changed dramatically. Quote

NateFollmer Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 I thought of anyone one when someone mentioned Google Earth and GPS. My phone - I use it to keep logs of fish, plot good fishing areas, photograph fish and structure areas... Really anything you can think of to log your trips, it will do. Quote

bocabasser Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 probably side imaging if that counts. not only does it count, but i am hoping that side imaging gives me a leg up on the competition this year for the King of the Glades series. it is mainly canal fishing in the glades, but i am certain there are rocks, humps, cars and anything else that will hold fish that will show up on the screen. Super User Wayne P. Posted November 24, 2010 Super User Posted November 24, 2010 bocabasser, if you have the Humminbird SI, try the red/green SI color to help you find the soft/hard bottom transition areas. Great tool to quickly find those transition areas. Quote

I forgot about the Minn Kota i-pilot. That would be my second choice after SI. Quote
