LazyBASS1301600404 Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 Location: Heavily pressured city park pond. Weather: low 50s in grey light, 60s noon. Clear skies mostly. Should I just use the techniques that got me bites here before or should I change it up? Last outing, got skunked. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks! Quote

Super User WRB Posted December 1, 2010 Super User Posted December 1, 2010 Torrance as in LA area SoCal? You need assault weapon to survive, not a fishing lure suggestion. The weather is cold nights in the low 40's upper 60's daytime. Water in a pond should be about 56 to 58 degrees. What does the pond have for bass prey? cover? Try C-rigging a soft plastic creature like a baby brush hog. WRB Quote

LazyBASS1301600404 Posted December 2, 2010 Author Posted December 2, 2010 I do apologize, guess I should of gave the pond condition too, was in a bit of a hurry to post. visibility isn't that great, murky water I guess you can say, haven't checked yet how the weeds are, but usually a TON of weeds. WRB - yes SoCal, the place I am talking about is in a decent neighborhood As for bass prey, blue gills and little fry, occasionally I'll see a crawdad close to shore but don't see many... Quote

Super User WRB Posted December 3, 2010 Super User Posted December 3, 2010 I would try a slip shot Yamamoto 4" twin tail Hula grub, 3/0 off set hook to keep the grub in place and 3/16 oz bullet weight and small round BB shot about 2' above the hook. This is a finesse C-rig that should work in your pond. Color; green w/red, black, purple flake. The other option would be a jointed J13 Rapala in fire tiger, good pond lure. Quote

Flipsk828 Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Small soft plastic, light line, spinning rods, finesse fishing at its finest. In highly pressured lakes, ponds, etc. Finesse fishing will catch the inactive fish. Quote
