Fish with kid Groups?

Anyone else fish with kid groups. I take a group to the Boundary Waters every summer. We camp, paddle lots, fish lots, portage, and day trip some for sightseeing. I've attached some pictures.

I do a tournament every year that is a Pro/Teen event. Pro's or Boaters volunteer for the day and take a kid fishing. It is a tournament, but its about the kids and there is no money involved. Just fun for kids, and us adults too.

Everyone should get involved with youth fishing.

When my son was in YMCA Indian Guides, I got involved teaching 6 to 8 year old to fish for about 3 years, it was a rewarding experience. The groups size stared out with about 6 kids and grew to over 25 during the 3 years.

Camping and fishing go hand in hand, a wonderful outdoor experience. I was surprised how few dads had fishing skills and they learned along with their kids how to catch, clean and cook fish.

I do a fishing camp for kids K-5th grade as part of the summer program at the school were I teach.  Spend three days on campus learning about habitat, gear, casting, etc.... then day four we go to a pond and catch a bunch of fish.  Lots of fun!!!

I taught a beginners fishing class at a small community lake a few years ago. Only a few kids showed up but while I was showing them how to use one of my favorite beginner rigs (wacky rigged senko) one of the little girls yelled she was snagged. I started walking over and noticed the "snag" was pulling here line out towards deeper water. I told her to start reeling and when she did a nice largemouth jumped and then buried up in the milfoil. She did a good job and with a little coaching managed to drag in a large clump of weeds and a fish. After pulling away all the weeds we found a 4 1/4 pound largemouth in the middle of it all. It was a pretty cool experience for the little girl and myself, made me glad I took the time out from fishing myself to get the next generation involved!

Every now an then I get a really nice kid who would ask a lot of questions about fishing, next thing you know it, your giving your rod to the kid and teaching them how to fish! Man, if a kid that interested wants to learn that bad, I would do it for FREE!.

I often think about posting a "teaching a kid to fish" ad down a that pond and keep it cheap, just to get the younger generation involved.
