When I first started fishing I used to crankbait fish all the time. I haven't crankbait fished for at least 8 years and want to dedicate a good part of 2011 fishing them again.

I'm also hoping to get my buzzbait mojo back. The buzzbait bite, for me, has been nonexistent for 3 years now.  :-X

1. Update the site more often

2. Learn more casting techniques and presentations with the fly rod.

3. Use the fly rod more for bass.

4. Target Muskie and Pike (I always set out to do that and end up bass fishing anyway).

5. Take my son out with me as much as possible.

6. Get my brothers out more.

7. Possibly do a BASS Northern Open tourney as a co-angler.

Everything else is just bonus after that :P

I wouldn't mind fishing my first tourney at some point next year.  I've never really had the urge before.  I just keep wondering what fishing is like when there is something on the line besides fun.

2010 was by far my best year.  I caught more an bigger bass.  I gained huge confidence in cranks and jerkbaits.  My goals for this coming year are to catch some decent fish in the dog days of summer, couldn't get nothin but dinks when it was 100+ degrees.  I also want to learn to fish deeper water better.  I don't have, or plan to be able to afford anything better than my crappy $80 depth finder so I plan to just use it better for finding drops, points, etc etc....then catch a fish on them.  As for new techniques...2011 is going to be the year of the C-Rig for me!

2011?

I'll fish when I can and be thankful if I'm still lookin' down at the grass. Buy a few (or more) new baits, maybe replace a couple of reels that are on their last legs, have fun, take the grandkids fishing more often, thank God for a wife that tolerates my expensive hobbies, try to learn the drop shot technique, enjoy every day as if it's my last because it might be.

2011 is much like 2010 for me i hope...lots of days on the water with plenty of largemouth...good luck and good fishing to all you guys in 2011..

That's a great bass but we need something else in the picture to provide scale.  How big was it?  I hope 2011 is great for you also.  Cheers!
