Super User Fishes in trees Posted November 30, 2010 Super User Posted November 30, 2010 Basically, I'd like to spend more time fishing with pals and less time fishing by myself. Most of my pals have radically different schedules and making time to fish together is a pain. Myself and 8 or 9 different pals have talked about taking a week and all going fishing. We've set a date and a place, far in advance (2nd week of June) and now we'll see how many can show up. Quote

Super User Goose52 Posted November 30, 2010 Super User Posted November 30, 2010 Well, I made my 2010 goals - get off the bank and on the water (got a canoe) and to catch 1,000 bass (I'm at 1052 as of today). For 2011 - I guess my goals would be to wean myself from my confidence baits and to learn new baits/techniques, to better understand and exploit underwater structure, to better understand and use my sonar, and to improve the quality of the fish caught (larger average size). Not as quantifiable as the 2010 goals, but goals nonetheless! Quote

MrWrinkle Posted November 30, 2010 Posted November 30, 2010 Mid-to-late summer 2010 i bought myself a couple of new combos and started dedicating more time to baits (e.g. jigs) and locations (e.g. deep water) that used to completely fail me. I started catching a LOT of fish. So now I am looking forward to a full year -- including some cold weather fishing -- using all the lessons I've learned this year. I'd also like to start getting fish on senkos, which are my only remaining "popular" bait that still fails me... Quote

CAdeltaLipRipper Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 I'll be doing the same old same old. Fishing when the weather allows and the water is not hard. This past year was the worst I have had in many a year. The fish were hard to find after the spawn and the smallies just disappeared. Even the best white bass lake had a die off and fall fishing for them was nonexistent. I'm looking forward to a better year in 2011. i didnt catch one striper this year besides a few dinks.lol pretty irritated, hopefully i will get some in before the years ends.We are in a cold front right now, kinda just coming out of it but another one hits us tomorrow lol Quote

CAdeltaLipRipper Posted December 1, 2010 Author Posted December 1, 2010 Fishing tournaments will be the same as last year. Im building towards bigger plans in 2012. So this year will be all about trying to establish my new career to allow me to follow my dreams. Hopefully the fishing in Nor Cal returns to the better days of the past. Same here i was pretty dissapointed this year. Quote

Super User SirSnookalot Posted December 1, 2010 Super User Posted December 1, 2010 Do what I always do, saltwater in the morning and freshwater in the afternoon. For the last few weeks I have been fishing with Stu Tinney, a hall of fame fisherman, we have a few trips planned. Quote

Super User Jigfishn10 Posted December 1, 2010 Super User Posted December 1, 2010 When I first started fishing I used to crankbait fish all the time. I haven't crankbait fished for at least 8 years and want to dedicate a good part of 2011 fishing them again. I'm also hoping to get my buzzbait mojo back. The buzzbait bite, for me, has been nonexistent for 3 years now. :-X Quote
