NateFollmer Posted November 19, 2010 Posted November 19, 2010 Doesn't work on my phone (It loads, but I can't scroll the map or anything). But, I'll just shoot photos with GPS data embedded and add them later. Quote

Super User RoLo Posted November 23, 2010 Super User Posted November 23, 2010 Why not use Angling Technologies Mapper tool:http://mapper.angling-technologies.com/atom/pmap.php John, I'd be remiss if I didn't thank you for this website, which is my idea of sharing. Lake charts without depth lines are like dinner plates without food, but the Angling Technologies Mapper is a full plate. In a word, "incredible"! I'm currently using both Garmin and Navionics cartography on every lake I fish, but frankly both are fraught with inaccuracies. I live just minutes from Lake Kissimmee (four turns from my community), so I'm intimately familiar with many of the chart inaccuracies. The Angling Technologies Mapping tool is remarkably accurate, and I can see several areas where it's more accurate than expensive GPS cartography from Navionics and Garmin. I never thought I'd be saying that, but it happens to be a fact. In addition, I was able to import my Garmin waypoints under their GPS button. I choose the Garmin.gdb format and it imported my waypoints in their saved DD.ddddd syntax (slightly greater precision than "DD.MM.mmm" syntax) Thanx again Roger Quote

Arizona Fishing Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I wonder how long the lag time is for Google Earth? Sometimes I look at my house in it to get a good sense of how old the data is so I can use it to look at lake levels before I go out fishing. It's just not too reliable some I think they update the imagery in the city more often then in urban areas for traffic monitoring programs. I have found some of the best fishing wholes in Google Earth though just following the major rivers here looking for little pools that I eventually drive and check out. Arizona Fishing Quote
