Just finished winterizing the boat today. Washed it up and getting ready to wax it for winter storage. (Stays in my garage) I hate this time of year. Oh well, guess I'll start cleaning up my rod and reels and organize my tackle for next spring. Plus, scanning my catalogs to see what other goodies I can order. I think I can make it till next spring. What do you guys think?

kevinator, are you located in the northern half of Indiana?  I'm in Kansas City and we still have some bigger lakes with water temperatures in the 50s, though the air temperatures are getting into the upper 20s this week for lows with highs in the 40s to 50s.  We are at about the same longitude as Bloomington, IN.  I would bet the Southern half of Indiana is still in the Fall to late Fall bass season.  If you're down there, don't put that boat away.   :)

senile,

I am in the north central part of Indy. I could still fish but with work and other obligations, I figure I should get it done before it gets too cold. I went out last week and caught some small bass but nothing to brag about. And to Sam, thanks for reminding me about the things I can do to keep me occupied in the winter. That always takes up a lot of time. 8-)

I'm with J on this one. I took up fly fishing so I had something to do when the lakes were hard (Ice fishing doesn't keep my attention for very long :( ). It's funny, when I'm fishing for trout, I can't see myself going back to bass fishing. Once the lakes melt, I'm back on them and can't see myself trout fishing until they freeze again...

Well, if you have tackle in the amount I have then yup, that will be enough for you to make it along through the winter.  ;D

If you don 't have as much tackle as I well, unless your boat is Titanic size and your wallet is deep enough to purchase all those goodies then you are in trubble, get a XBOX and lots of games.  ;)

What do you mean by "winterize my boat"??? I don't get it ;)... BTW, I just started wearing long pants again, wore shorts for about the past 6 months. Yeah, this winter thing kind of sucks. I pitty you guys in the north, I have never even seen a frozen lake, closest we get is a thin layer of ice over the mud puddles in the driveway come late January.

I remember posting about the brutal cold last winter, then bitchin' about the heat this past summer. Some of us are never happy are we ?! >:(:D

Oh well, I fish up until the bitter end when the ice shows up for the long haul. Got some kayak additions and modifications to do in addition to the normal gear maintenance.

Come February I've about had it.

Yeah Raul, I have enough equipment to sort through to last through a few winters I think. Wife says I have to much but we guys know that there is no such thing as too much fishing equipment. Women don't understand it is an addiction. Got to have all of the new stuff you know.
