This fish, caught by my friend Tina on a fly: http://challengeseries.kayakbassfishing.com/challengeseries/uploads/25%20inch%20bass%20caught%20by%20Tina.jpg

Tina ties her own, and her results are amazing. She's pretty much dedicated to the fly, though throws a frog when the time is right.

Holy smokes, I can't imagine catching that on a fly reel.

Bass are relative pussycats.  Can you imagine this on a fly?

Yeah, Bass (especially Largemouth's) aren't gonna fight as hard as that beast.

I love bass fishing with a fly rod. In fact, there are many times when it is the most effective way to fish. For example, when working a ditch that goes through pads or other veggies, or a line of standing wood, you can make a cast and give it three or four bloomps or twitches right along the edge and then pick it up and move over a foot and do it again with out retrieving the lure all the way back to the boat. I especially love doing this from the kayak in shallow water while sitting side straddle or wading after sneaking in the kayak.

J, keep it in your pants... Oh, thats a fish!

I need to fly fish where you do... Our browns are wimps compared to what you've caught.

Knot - that's true. I love putting nymphs through deep, quick pools. Just drop it, let it go down stream, pick up the rod, flip, repeat :) No need to cast every time. Half the time when I run 'tandem' nymphs, I don't cast because I just create a mess :)
