phc03 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Hey I was wondering the effects on bass if there is no rain for a long time. I'm going to guess its been about a month or a maybe a little longer since it last rained here. The water levels are really low. Is there anything anyone can recommend to better my chances of catching something? Quote
Super User Shane J Posted October 11, 2010 Super User Posted October 11, 2010 I went through the same scenario here, also. What I found to work, was to go small, go slow, and fish around deeper structure. Quote

bassinbob54 Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 yea we got the same thing here in NC a drought and the lakes way down..fishing has been tough but i found a few in the back of very shallow creeks feeding on shad and also getting some off docks that have deep water...good luck Quote
brushhoggin Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 yeah this is the longest period without rain i've ever noticed. oxygen levels are down a whole lot. when it does finally rain, it'll replenish the oxygen levels, then get ready! Quote

Super User A-Jay Posted October 11, 2010 Super User Posted October 11, 2010 Yup ! Today is the first Overcast day we've had in a couple of weeks. I'm not complaining because it won't be long before the lakes here are in the hard water period. But I am heading out and hoping to do some Damage . . . . Update: Damage done ? ~ not so much.
