so i have had the pleasure of meeting both kevin van dam and hank parker in the last two days.

this is mind blowing to me.

both were very polite and answered any and all questions, and kevin even gave what amounted to a 40 minute crankbait seminar from the front of his boat.

i got kvd to sign a red eye shad and hank parker to sign a C.C. redfin.

i didnt get pics with hank though and the one of me kevin and my daughter isnt on a computer yet...

but it was cool anyway!

just thought id share....

honestly ive been a stagehand for going on 15 years now and dont get starstruck too often, but it was something else to shake hank parkers hand... i grew up watching his show religiously!!!

That's so cool.

KVD is arguably the best pro bass fisherman ever and to meet him would be amazing.

You gonna fish with the red eye he signed?  ;D ;D ;D

What you should've done was have a tattoo gun handy so he can sign you  8-)

yeah i was pretty excited... both guys were so down to earth.

actually in regards to the lures.... i have some of my grand fathers old lures passed down to me and i have some of my father in laws stuff that he was collecting. he is who basically got me into "serious" bass fishing, but he passed away a year ago. i was gonna take all the lures and those that i can get signed and stuff and either make a shadowbox display or a glass coffeetable display depending on how many i can get....

i thought itd be cool for a fishing room and also good for my daughter whos only two now but already loves fishing... to get to know her grandfather and great grand father a little more... :)

When I was growing up watching Bassmasters, KVD was my favourite angler because he was the up and comer who was hot on the circuit. I'm glad after all these years and the success hes had, the guy is still the coolest. KVD is the man!

A few years ago I got to meet Hank Parker and my first impression wasn't very good. But since then he's grown on me. He recently showed up at the lake here at Kingfisher where I work and took a kid out for the Make a Wish Foundation. He treated that little boy like royalty. He's definitely worked his way up my list of classy pros.

If you ever have the opportunity to meet the pros you will find them to be outstanding people.

I have met Parker, VanDam, Houston, Ike, Ivano, Daves and a few more and each was not only a gentleman but made you feel like a long lost friend.

NASCAR follows this same marketing scheme and it has been successful for NASCAR, too.  :)
