The lake i am going to be fishing is really clear and i was wondering which baits would be good to use.

Soft jerkbaits, smaller worms in natural colors, and cranks in natural or flashy (silver or gold) finishes. Topwaters work well at low light periods or during cloudy weather. A spinnerbait with a subdued skirt also works.

I prefer clear water over muddy water ANY day. Stained water can be the best though.

in the strip mine pits by me ive always caught bass on a small grub type jig in watermelon  color and ive caught alot on a 4 inch dark watermelon type senko worm both t -rigged and wacky rigged i always use 4# test line in case the fish are finicky.

Pretty much the same baits you will use for muddy/murky/stained water.
