Ima Bass Ninja Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Any ideas??? this pond has a lot of algae on the bottom as well.. Quote
Bass XL Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Well that's pretty much what I fish around here at school. I mainly go with weightless trick worms and the like. Quote
MMan16 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Low visibility waters i've had good success with something a little noisy. Try a crankbait, or spinnerbait. Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Same type of water I fish in my area and a crankbait works well or a spinnerbait depending on the weeds. The BPS Egg cranksbaits work well if the weeds are high and it makes plenty of noise and has a nice wide wobble. Good Luck Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted September 28, 2010 Super User Posted September 28, 2010 Your favorite plastic in a natural color (greens, browns, etc) should do well. Noisy hardbaits in charteuse are another option. Quote
OHIO Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 I find that buzzbaits work really well in waters like this. Also maybe a senko style bait in pumpkin or watermelon colors. Quote
via Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 i fished a lake just like this and a jerkbait usually works for me. Quote
garry77 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 Green pumpkin or watermelon/red flake trick worm fished weightless. That's what works around here in the green water. Quote
hookset on 3 Posted September 30, 2010 Posted September 30, 2010 I agree with Bilgerat. One color I would add for dawn or dusk is junebug. I read it somewhere this year and I've been absolutely SMOKIN' em. Fish tend to match their surroundings,as a result, I have noticed that baitfish are a few shades darker in the morning or right at dusk. Good Luck, hookset on 3 Quote

Good Luck, hookset on 3 Quite a few of the irrigation ponds we frequent here in Ga. will develop the same color in middle summer, JuneBug trick worm is the killer in these conditions! Quote
bt fisherman Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 i would try a white sizmic toad jr. or a regular size. Quote
bigredxlt Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 I fish a pond like that in my backyard almost everyday. I can almost guarantee that pond is holding some pretty nice bass. If the food competition is tough just about anything will work if you can keep it out of the weeds. I do have trouble getting them to hit shad imitating crank baits, minnow cranks seem to work better. I would say you try some: plastic craws (baby pacas) in green or brown t-rigged and weightless just dead stick it and look for the line to take off. If those dont work try it with a senko or trick worm. I have caught some 3 and 4 pounders on bright green and gold flake senkos. But seriously try just about anything..I caught my PB in a pond like that on a purple buzz bait that I couldnt catch anything on. Quote
