need help with pond

me and my friend found this pond that has nice bass in it but it is tough to fish we tried wacky worms and crankbaits but the problem is the water is really murky and its also a really shallow pond. my friend finally caught a 2 bass on a mepps spinner one was 19.5 inches but next time they wouldnt hit mepps spinners or the spinnerbaits we tried white with gold and silver blades >. if anybody has ideas it would be appreciated

Have you fished this pond often enough to get a pretty good feel for it? Murky water in and of itself should not preclude good fishing. For many years I frequently fished an extremely murky section of the Erie Canal with success. 95% of my fishing was done with crankbaits and the rest with grubs on jigheads.

If this is a decent pond you ought to be able to catch fish on a variety of lures, fished based on the cover and other conditions.

Those Erie Canal fish (bass, walleye and pike) hit plenty of lures that were "wrong" for murky water, such as quiet and muted colored lures. Nevertheless, you might want to use lures that conventional wisdom says should be good in murky water. I'd start with rattling crankbaits, thumping spinnerbaits and noisy topwaters.

Weightless texas rig those wacky worms, Fat Ika's, Chatterbaits, Rage Shads and something along the lines of the Rapala Subwalk.  I fish a very similar pond to yours and these work really well.

i went back and got one more bass on a mepps then fished another hour without a bite but thanks guys ill give some of the stuff a try

Try a tiny brush hog on a light big bite jighead. This is deadly at a local pond I fish. Also a 3" wacky rigged senko and a frog type bait have been very good. My son uses a bass pro shops stickguard on his jighead and it keeps it pretty weedless.

Try using a Culprit 7.5" Fire & Ice worm pegged with a light weight bullet weight.  I catch fish pretty consistently with that rig in murky water.

Also try a weightless WHTITE senko style lure.  I like Case Plastics Magic Stik.  Looks identical to a senko but about half the cost.  I fish it on berkely fireline crystal braid with about a 6 foot mono leader.  Deadly in ponds, especially murky ones.

Texas rigged trick worms weightless even 1/16 oz. bullet (Junebug, Watermelon/Any Flake, Baby bass).

Also found that the small 1/8 oz. Booyah Pond spinner baits work well, blue/black especially. Anything larger than that is overkill in a farm pond.

Finally a chartreuse grub on a small crappie jig head sometimes kills.
