pj123 Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Yesterday when I was out on the pond by my house fishing bass were pushing up baitfish on the surface in semi-shallow water and after I lost my hook ( it was the olny one I had) I tied a knot around a stickbait, Through it in the middle of the baitfish, and then rushed it in on top the water and the bass were smashing it. Super User BASSclary Posted August 19, 2010 Super User Posted August 19, 2010 Shallow crank and small light spinnerbait. I wish I could vote twice! Quote
bigtimfish Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Not on the list,a small 4" swimbait (hollow body)or swimming super fluke. On the list gotta go for the spinnerbait. Quote
Super User Shane J Posted August 20, 2010 Super User Posted August 20, 2010 None of those for the biggest fish. The biggest will be below, so a Carolina rigged soft plastic. I hear a fluke is money for this, but I still stick with a craw worm or lizard. Quote
Super User Sam Posted August 20, 2010 Super User Posted August 20, 2010 You want the bait to drop through the baitfish and go beneath then where the bass are holding. Any lure that will do that will produce bites. Quote
alwayslooking Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 I, personally, keep a chrome rattle trap on deck for just such occasions Quote
rat-l-trapper Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 The one I've had the most success with has been a Super Spook JR. Since that wasn't on the list I voted lipless crank. Quote
Nice_Bass Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 4 in tube texas rigged so that it can spiral down to big girls. Then used like a jiggin spoon. Quote

Taylor Fishin 4 life Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 A fluke with a heavy weighted hook would be my choice. Get down there to the bottom but giving it a little twitching motion. THis imatates a little fish has nocked the crap out it or stunned it and the bigger fish will be lazy and wait for the bait to sink down into it face. Quote
