stewart1218 Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 What's the best deal that you partook of regarding fishing? Mine arrived today. I bought 20 assorted bags of Gene Larew, Zoom, Strike King, Strike King 3x, and Snapback soft plastics from a guy on ebay for $30 bucks all told. Great bunch of baits with only 1 or 2 oddballs i might give away. I did the math and assuming each bag cost $3.50 each which I think is on the low end it would have easily cost over $75. What do you think? Quote

Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted February 8, 2007 Super User Posted February 8, 2007 Last summer my buddy bought some furniture for his new house at a garage sale. I went back later that night with my utility trailer to help him move it. Over in the corner of the garage they had some dtuff that didn't sell. I noticed some rods and reels (one of them being a Curado 200) so I asked how much they wanted for them. All I was really interested in was the Curado .......... $40 ........ SOLD!!!!! I got a Curado 200, some old Daiwa reel I had never seen before, and two BPS Extremes that I sold on Ebay for $80 For you guys that golf ..... Back around 2001 or 2002 when Taylor Made just came out with their 300 series Drivers. They were HOT!!!!! The country club I worked at could hardly keep them on the shelves. One day I found a head in a trash can at the course. Just the head. Took it to the Pro Shop and put about $60 into it, and sold it for almost $300. Quote
Fish Chris Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Well, as I always say, the best money I spend all year, is on my fishing license..... about $50, for 100 plus trips, so certainly a great deal. How could one ever complain ? :-) ......but then, to top it off, I became sponsored by Yamaha G3 last year, and so of course I got a very good deal on my new boat, motor, and trailer package... But here's the kicker ! I didn't even know about this when I got my new Yamaha G3, but anyone who bought a new package from them (at least in 06'.... I'm not sure if they are still offering this in 07') gets a full reimbursement of their fishing license for 3 years ! So my "best" deal, just got even better :-) Peace, Fish PS, To say I love my new boat would be an absolute understatement :-) Quote
stewart1218 Posted February 8, 2007 Author Posted February 8, 2007 Wow, my big deal sucks compared to the big fish around here! Quote

Super User Catt Posted February 9, 2007 Super User Posted February 9, 2007 Back in the early 70s I attended a seminar by Elwood L. " Buck" Perry and bought his home study course; it's still paying off today. Quote
boondocks Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I can't think of any off hand but I remember about 15years ago you could get a 10 pack of regular ole round ball jigs for a $1. Now they 3 for a $1. How times change. :'( Quote
hookem12_0 Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Aww. So your the one that outbid me while I was at work. Congrats. Sounds like a good assortment. Quote
Johanv Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Anything I buy from the states is a good deal. Bass stuff here in South Africa is SO expensive. I bought 3 Quantum reels with 3 Bass Pro Shop Reel bags and the Quantum Hot sauce reel oil for the same prize as I would have paid for 1 of the same Quantum Reels here. But unfortunately my friend that use to stay in the sates moved back here so now I don't have anybody that can collect and ship it for me :'( Quote
Hawgin Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I had a guy who was in a mony crunch and he sold me a 7' MH Fenwick Techna AV for $50. Got me started on my Fenwick buying binge....wait, maybe that wasn't such a good deal. Quote
