airborne_angler Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Ive just started using this product and im just loving it. The strikes are there(lots from Bluegill) and on the first day I used it,I boated 2 really decent fish(for me at least). 1 was about 3.5 lbs,and 1 was about 2.5 lbs. Im used to catching dinks that weigh less than 1 lb and measure only 9 or 10 inches. So this is a big deal!! So im convinced it works, but was this product designed for only Bass or will it work when fishing for Walleyes,Crappie,Northerns,Large Trout and Stripers? What about Catfish? How does this stuff do on Livebait? Anyone tried it for species other than Bass? I know the Bluegill love this stuff!!! Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted July 9, 2010 Super User Posted July 9, 2010 I actually it use for saltwater bay fish. i.e. Spotties, sandies, and hali's..with a 3-4" big hammer..or a 3" grub..and yep, they do bite em.. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted July 9, 2010 BassResource.com Administrator Posted July 9, 2010 It doesn't work for any fish at all. I don't use the stuff at all. Fish hate it. : Quote

Super User iceintheveins Posted July 9, 2010 Super User Posted July 9, 2010 Seems to work for all fish so far that I've tried it on. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted July 9, 2010 Super User Posted July 9, 2010 It has amino acids from fish in it. Big fish eat little fish. It will work for species other than bass. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted July 10, 2010 Global Moderator Posted July 10, 2010 Where do you guys get this stuff? I tried a few local shops and they don't carry it Thanks Mike Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted July 10, 2010 Super User Posted July 10, 2010 Directly from Megastrike. Click on the "View all sponsors" area under the banners at the top. You can also order from Tackle Warehouse. Quote
Mike D from Lunkerville Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 megastrike is also a great lubricant for soft plastics... helps them get through weeds a lot easier.... and while you're on their site, check out all their other stuff like the jigs, buzzbaits and new spinnerbaits... they're definitely ahead of the curve, innovation-wise. and just to give full disclosure: they sponsor lunkerville Quote
shimmy Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 i did a lot of stream fishing for trout and i loved the stuff. I always applied it to my lures. The bigger brown trout would tail the lure for ten feet or so and still bite it. So, i wasn't just getting reaction bites and trout are really finicky with bad smells. So, i know it works for trout as well. Someone said the amino acids thing earlier also so that makes sense. Megastrike will not disappoint! Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted July 10, 2010 Super User Posted July 10, 2010 Also great for lubing line and sinker when flipping heavy cover. I used it last year on live minnows and small jigs suspended under a bobber for crappie and seemed to have decent reults. Quote
kms399 Posted July 12, 2010 Posted July 12, 2010 I put in on every thing I throw and muskies love it. before mega strike, 8 muskie in 4 years after mega strike 22 muskies in 3 years all in the same lake while fishing for bass. Quote
airborne_angler Posted July 16, 2010 Author Posted July 16, 2010 I saw it in the Sportsmans Warehouse in Tucson as well Quote
