Fishing Superstitions

Superstitions are just that Superstitions!

You are going to have good days and bad days alike it does not matter what you wear or what you do.

Your day or night is dependant upon your attitude and determination to find and catch fish.

I am not a believer in luck or any of that other stuff I just simply go fishing and be thankful for what I have been given.

Don't believe in superstitions? Good luck with that! 

I usually go with BASSclary's Mojo/JOO-JOO philosophy. If you start off bad, chances are you're in for a bad day. Although there have been several times where I've started off bad (broken rod, spilled tackle box, leaking boat, etc) but I end up catching some really nice fish.

The fish in my avatar was caught on such a day. Leaking boat, caught ZERO fish in a couple hours and while boat was draining caught her near the boat ramp.

Another one i have is that in the car ride to the water i have to sing this song i made up, Its sort of a spoof to "Rock'n Me" by The Steve Miller Band.

its not a superstition but i made up a fishing song to Joe Walsh - I Like Big T***. "I like big fish. They come in schools, but will they bite, I like big fish" instead of "they come in twos, left and right"

I have a Tilley hat that I always have to wear.  If i get to the water and Im not wearing it, I dont expect much of a day

I am fun to be with I am just really old fashioned.

Life to me is that every day is a gift it is what it is day to day and nothing you or I do can stop the inevitable.

It's what we do with the time in between that really counts and to me that's all that matters.

My most favorite thing to do is fish with my family.

My next favorite thing is cooking and camping while drinking a lot of cold long neck bud's.

My favorite game to play...and I know I'm gonna get ripped for this one...is CORNHOLE there I said it and its not what your thinking for those of you who have no idea what this game is LOL.

As for my fun sense of imagination you really should have a chat with my wife about that one!!! HA HA!!!

For all the banana haters I caught this last week with eight bananas in the boat. It came from a lake known for small fish. I had one more that was almost as big. I also have caught three teen size fish with bananas in the boat. I am thinking about getting a banana sponsor. ;D

Im not usually superstitious but I discovered I have a superstition yesterday.

I only started using Megastrike this week. After 1 trip I am convince3d in the stuff. Yesterday I launched my boat,and was prepping a bait to throw,but I couldnt find my Megastrike.

I was convinced this was gonna be a really bad day. I searched a little longer and found it. My mood did a full 360 and it was Game on.

So I believe if I dont have the Megastrike in the boat,im not gonna have a good day.

i don't believe in luck or superstitions either, but it seems that whenever the gas light is on in my dads truck when we leave for the lake, we do pretty good fishing.

I always fill the boat and truck the night before..no exceptions.  I never eat breakfast, or anything chicken the night before.  Nothing but water or gatorade in the boat except a sandwich.  I always get in the boat from my console side.  No water in the livewells till a fish is in the boat..kind of like counting money before you have it.

When I fish a tournament I have to have two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in the boat. Tried a tournament one time without them and stunk it up. Never again!!!

I personally had a banana experience of my own this past week on vacation at the OBX. (Have you noticed no posts in a while?) We were fishing live bait at the Avon Pier and that morning fishing was a super dry spell.

My dad then pulled out his breakfast from the cooler; a d*** banana. So i hit the banana over the railing and as soon as it hit the water.....
