Jake P Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 A fish is released after being caught? Do they leave the spot they were in? I am curious why people say that spot is heavily fished so dont waste your time and i was curious if this is why? Quote
brushhoggin Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 i've heard they're stunned pretty bad for a couple days after being caught, then i've also heard people catching the same fish twice in a day. seems to be so many variables in play here it's hard to know for certain. wish we could put a tiny camera on one female and one male caught. Rolipoli Fishead Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 I was fishing with my dad the other day and he had a bass spit his jig out right at the boat. I saw where he was casting and threw in there about 4 or 5 times and caught the same fish, I believe anyway. It was still bleeding from the upper lip which is where he hooked it. I think they just head for a place that feels comfortable and safe to them. Quote
Nebraskabassin Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 This morning I felt a hit, set the hook and started reeling him in. After a second or two my line went loose and it was gone, but almost instantly after that it took it again and I reeled in a 2 lber. Im almost positive it was the same fish because it happened so fast Quote
Super User Nitrofreak Posted July 2, 2010 Super User Posted July 2, 2010 Heavily fished means the fish see a lot of pressure in other words the area in question gets fished hard by a lot of people with a lot of different tackle BUT that does not mean you shouldn't try fishing there because in these cases if you have a lot of patience you will catch some fish. As far as the fish recouping I have had scenarios on more than one occasion where I had a fish break my line close to the boat and I picked up another rod rigged with a different bait and caught the fish I had just lost and retrieved my hook and bait. Although it's rarebut it does happen. Quote
