Jigs, single spins, tubes, worms

Spots close to where I'd fish during the day.  I try shallow after it has been dark for a few hours.  The bite usually drops off after 2 am until close to daylight so I normally pack up and go home or tie up and sleep for a couple of hours.

My favorite lure is a black short arm spinnerbait with a black colorado blade. Dark colored jigs and big worms work great here too.

I would say I fish shallower at night but near daytime spots.

An important thing for me at night is sound and vibration. I use heavier jigs and worm weights. I always stay in contact with the bottom with spinnerbaits.

I always start with topwater! It's so fun to hear a strike but not fully see it! I also use black, large colorado-bladed spinnerbaits, soft plastics and jigs. Yes, i do fish most of the same spots as daytime. I pay close attention to the moon phases for the most productive times, sometimes it pays off. I also believe the fish are a lil easier to fool under the cover of darkness, cause i usually catch more #'s of big-uns at night! Lately I've caught several 10-15lb channel cats at night with topwaters!

This topic comes up very often, especially recently.  The fish don't say to themselves "Ok, it's 9pm.  Let's stop eating plastics now and only eat buzzbaits".

Use the same baits that work in the lake daytime.

time trips around rising and falling moons. I stay all night and have noticed they're little more active during these times. I have also taken note of the wind picking up during these times. Weightless 10" worms, split shot assasins, all frogs, big colorada spinnerbait, buzz. I like to get in a place and let it all settle down and then get ninjafied. Pitch instead of slangin for instance or deadsticking an assasin I like to use scents more at night too. Wobbleheads with a black n blue saphire trick worm :o

I night fish a lot. My home lake is very clear and the bite is much better at night. One thing i've been doing as of late is swimming a 5in grub on a round head jig. The lake has weeds out to 20 ft of water or better. Cast towards shore and follow the tops of the weeds down the slope. And when you feel hung up rip that jig free and Hold On! I've had some VICIOUS strikes doing this.

I have had success fishing a black jointed jitterbug during very early or very late, dark hours.

This is my first choice. Also Rattletrap, spinnerbait, Hula Popper, and crankbait.

Summers here are 110 to 118 degrees during the day, so I launch my boat @ 6pm and fish through the night until @ 11am, then load up and go home.

X2 and if there are grass beds in your water, focus on the tops and or edges of the deeper grass. During high sun daylight, they'll tend to bury in or under it but at night they are more likely to be on or near the top of the grass as well as on the outer edges.

Running a spinnerbait typical to the one CJ mentioned and a big worm that has plenty of action and vibration on a weighted hook or light T rig that will primarily stay on the top of the grass, will be very productive.

At night, I use the lightest weight possible depending on the wind for grass. In heavily fished waters the fish seem to feel a bit more secure and will stray from their hiding a little more, so you can make a few mistakes on precision flips or casts to stick ups and other fish holding structure and still get the bites.

Top waters are excellent as well but I fish weedless types like Buzz style Toads and Shad to avoid grass fouling in the case that I throw it up the salad ;)

This is the month that I start fishing almost exclusively at night

My favorite is a dark colored 1/2 oz. jig or big t-rigged worm/creature on a 3/8 or 1/2 oz bullet weight. I use rattles much of the time. Last night the jig was the best choice at about 20' on my favorite lake.

I haven't fished past 9pm yet but i seen the guys using mepps inline spinners past that time.  I know the bass turn on at dusk but these guys told me they turn on gain later on too.

When i go out at 3:30am i use the BPS topnocker and i do switch to the rebel BIG claw crawfish crankbait that dives to 10ft.  The crawfish crank caught my biggest bass so far(10lbs). Around 5am of course. two feet from shore.                 BigBill
