Blaine E Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 BPS is havin a sale on their XPS cranks and such. Never tried a BPS lure just wondering if anyone has had any luck with any of their products? Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 1, 2009 Super User Posted April 1, 2009 They are great lures, top of the line. I love the XPS Rattle Shad, the best lipless crank on the market IMO. Quote
mwbrown Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 for the price you can't lose. They work great in my opinion the only down side is they dont last as long. I like the balsa boogie but like i said after a few good fish they start to crack, nothin a little clear nail polish cant fix. Quote
Blaine E Posted April 2, 2009 Author Posted April 2, 2009 Thanks guys. They look real good. Ill be stockin' up a few. Quote
Super User CWB Posted April 2, 2009 Super User Posted April 2, 2009 Great baits. Colors, styles, hooks all top notch. Some guys give BPS stuff a bad rap but I like these. Can't beat the price! Quote
basser89 Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I loke the XPS Extreme (the deep diver) and the Static Shad. Quote
BassNub Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 XPS lures are great! just remember to change the treble hooks Quote
Ballpark Frank Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 They are great lures, top of the line. I love the XPS Rattle Shad, the best lipless crank on the market IMO. I must agree. I got the 5 piece kit a couple of years ago and they are still going strong. They are some of my favorite baits, especially the blue back/chrome and red craw. Quote
windycitybass Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I had automatically assumed that BPS brand is a cheap brand and it would be worth while to throw your money into the better, higher-end stuff. I have been looking at Rapala x raps and stuff like that because of this theory. But this isn't the case at all huh? Quote
ChiCityBasser Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I've had lots of xuccess with the XPS lures and pick up a couple everytime I'm in BPS and you can't beat the price. Quote
Btech Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Huh Good reports all over think ill give these a shot as well - Dont use thier stuff much other thain their poles. They make great rods. Quote
Branuss04 Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Hmmmm... well I guess I'll start the "Negative" bandwagon. I bought 5 random BPS lures a few years back. They were a good deal and I didn't know better. First one was a shallow diver crank bait. It didn't run straight at first (Expected this from a BPS crank) so I tuned it just like I do with Rapala's, Normans, etc. Take a pair of pliers and very slightly adjust the line tie. I DID NOT put excessive pressure on it due to the fact that it takes so little adjustment to straighten them out most of the time. Well the line tie breaks right where the metal goes into the lip. Second was a small weedless flipping jig. This was the first time throwing jigs and it looked real good. So I cast out and work it for 20 feet and get to a semi thick weed patch. Soon as I hit the weeds I reel in. When I get it in the skirt is gone :-/ . Now I'm 0 for 2 Third was a spinner bait. After my two previous attempts with BPS lures I didn't have high hopes. So I'm working this spinner bait near the bottom and after the second cast, I realize the top blade fell off. So I struck out on BPS Crap and will no longer use/touch/look at/recommend/think about/or buy any BPS lures or tackle. From MY experience, they aren't worth it and I'd rather spend the same amount of money on a brand like Normans cranks, or Jewel Jigs, or Terminator spinner baits that will hold up to at least 3 casts. Just my .02c Quote
nitro99 Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I have used these lures a lot. For the price they are my favorite, especially the top water poppers. Quote
CFFF 1.5 Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I have never had a negative experience with any of the BPS branded cranks, line, weights, reels, rods etc. I actually really like the XPS cranks. Quote
adclem Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 I have never had a bad experience with BPS XPS lures either. Everything I have tried has been excellent. Later, Quote
fooman Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Dont confuse the BPS XPS cranks with the regular BPS cranks.. The XPS that I have used have been very good but some of the regular BPS is just total cheap garbage Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 3, 2009 Super User Posted April 3, 2009 I've never bought anything of the BPS brand that wasn't good. Quote
