For me the Memorial Day Weekend marks the begining of seasonal summer patterns on the Bend; while I skip the Memorial Day Weekend looking forward instead for Tuesday-Thursday time frames.

Water temperatures running mid-80s, water clarity is good, grass flats are slightly behind and it's time for Ole School Bubba Bass Fishing with the lights turned off.

Put up in the storage boxes are the wacky worms, little finesse lures, and thoughts of shoreline structure placed on the back burner.

Strapped snugly on the deck are the Flippin/Pitchin/Punchin Rigs, thrown on the console are a couple packs of worms, jigs with trailers attached, and buoy markers.

Low on the eastern horizon is the moon while the sun is touching the tree tops in the western sky, sitting across the way is a good buddy smiling as you jump it up on plane.

Summer nights on the Bend cause my Adult Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder to kick in ;)

Sounds like you're about ready to haul in a few beasties, Catt. Nothing better than fishing right as the sky changes colors in the evening. I love it when dusk comes around here. All of a sudden you can see the baitfish feeding, birds feeding on the baitfish, etc etc. It's really amazing how everything turns on instantly at a certain time of the day.

Hope you wind up with a few photo worthy pics.

Awesome read. I can feel the wind in my face, smell the water and the night air, and see that moon. And if I stretch it a little farther, I can smell bass on my hands.

Very nice Catt. As the darkness surrounds us the sense of sight fades and gives way to touch and feel. No doubt a favorite time to be on the water, all alone with the sounds and smells that are never seen. But ever time a BAT flies into my line I lose my MIND !

Strange you should mention bats! One of my favorite night spots has bats near by & when the bats fly I know I'll catch.

Sounds fun.  I love night fishing.  It's 50 degrees at night for me, so I'll wait for another hot spell.

I share the same disorder though I fish during the day more, my mind and heart are on the water right now. The fish are done spawning and out deep. I'm anxious for the next school of bigguns' to come and get it!
