Super User bilgerat Posted May 11, 2010 Super User Posted May 11, 2010 Maybe it's because of the wet spring we've had out here = a lot more bugs to eat. I don't know, but man the bats are out in force this year. I've noticed a lot more bat activity this year than any other year I can think of. I fish at night quite a bit and I wish I had a dollar for every bat that dinged off my line that made me think I had a hit. Have I literally gone batty or has anyone else noticed ? Quote
bass or bass ? Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I always see lots of bats, especially at dusk, here on Arizona lakes when fishing overnight. I'm not seeing any more than usual. Quote
Pez Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 a few outings at dusk this year, they hit my line quite a few times. Quote
BrianSnat Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 That's good. I guess white nose syndrome hasn't reached south Jersey yet. In northern NJ there are very few bats left. I used to see dozens when on the water in the evening. Now maybe one or two, if any. Quote
rebeav Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 They love flouro line and if you use a buzz bait hot ol mighty. I have turned the Sonar off before to see if that helps dunno....They are just waiting for that big spinnerbait to come out of the water or when you use brass n glass w/ a keeper set about 8" above the hook eye and rage tail craw..looks like kung fu theater around your rod tip. Its been a chillier this spring here so I expect an onslaught soon when it warms on up. Quote
