carrothead Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I get cable, so the only ones that are ever on are WGFS with Zona (stupid), Spanish Fly (sucks), and Beat Charlie Moore (who decided to make this a show anyway?). So the closest I get to a fishing show is on FS Southwest called Southwest Outdoors Report. Other than that, the Elites are decent sometimes. Quote
farmpond1 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Time on the water with Frank Hyla gets my vote. But I'll watch anything except Beat Charlie Moore. Quote
Luke at Gouldsboro Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 City Limits with Mike Iaconelli is my fav to watch, but It's not informative... Quote
Revo_Carrot Stix Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 If it wasn't for DVR's and DVD's, I'd go nuts. Here are my lists: 1. The Bass Pro's 2. Strike King Pro's 3. Classic Patterns 4. Day on the Lake 5. Facts of Fishing w/ Dave Mercer 6. Bill Dance 7. Extreme Angler TV w/ Karl Kalonka And here's what I DON'T watch: 1. Roland Martin 2. Jimmy Houston 3. City Limits 4. Charlie Moore 5. Ultimate Fishing Challenge Quote
Shane Procell Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 I get cable, so the only ones that are ever on are WGFS with Zona (stupid), Spanish Fly (sucks), and Beat Charlie Moore (who decided to make this a show anyway?). So the closest I get to a fishing show is on FS Southwest called Southwest Outdoors Report. Other than that, the Elites are decent sometimes. Those shows coming out of south west Florida are some of the best and most informative on T.V. Jose Wejbe's Spanish Fly used to be much better when it was all from Florida but still keeps me coming back. Charlie Moore's show is very entertaining. I liked it when he was putting up the $5,000 if you beat him. I like to see Roland catching some big bass. Quote

Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted March 27, 2010 Super User Posted March 27, 2010 Jose Wejbe's Spanish Fly used to be much better when it was all from Florida.... I couldn't agree with you more. Still love watching it, but his Florida shows are just much much better to watch. Quote
GatorNation Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Anything But..... 1)Bill Dance 2) Roland Martin 3) Jimmy Houston Haha, for some reason Roland Martin drives me crazy. Quote
spraycrew Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Anything But..... 1)Bill Dance 2) Roland Martin 3) Jimmy Houston Haha, for some reason Roland Martin drives me crazy. BUT.......He's the great american fisherman, he'll fish anywhere, anywhere there's water you know he'll be there Quote
Bryce C Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 Bill Dance and the In-Fisherman here....been watching them both since I can remember. Although I will say that I get most of my information here, lol. Quote
Dinky Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 wish i got VS i only get outdoor tv. Seems like they have 6 days and 20 hours of hunting program a week. I would say my favorites of the limited selection i have is Pro Team Journal, Fish TV, and Bass Pro I got WFN all fishing all the time. ;D I dont get WFN, but I've seen it at a friend's house in another state--it is fantastic--fishing shows 24/7!!! Dinky Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 City Limits Fishing gets my vote. Having grown up in Brooklyn NY I consider myself an "urban angler" like Ike. The show is fun to watch and informative as well. I learned a lot about patterns, and switching baits often to match the local forage. To this day my favorite episode is City Limits fishing New York. Ike catches a bluefish by the United Nations and the same day catches a Largemouth in Central park. That is the variety I have experienced and love about this state. It is really a unique show for sure and I like it. I saw the one you mentioned above and actually was in NYC after that and walked by that pond just to see it. I also saw a few sporting goods stores not far away that had some fishing equipment in them. I wonder if his show inspired them to carry some fishing equipment? Quote
_BassAddict_ Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 City limits is great. I also love hook n look cause it shows you how the fish act under water. This has made me so much better at jigging. Quote
adclem Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Bass Pros and Hank Parker and of course Bill Dance. Later, Quote
fisher of bass Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 1. hook n look 2 classic patterns 3 bass edge 4 worlds greatest fishing show 5 city limits Quote
fishermantony Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Ultimate Match Fishing, City Limits and Reel in the Outdoors Quote
Captain Obvious Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 I don't watch fishing shows for information any more, I can find much more doing my own research. But I do watch them for entertainment so its ether "The Worlds Greatest Fishing Show" or "Ultimate Match Fishing" Quote
Cheese68 Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Charlie Moore OutDoors "The Mad Fisherman"!!! Love the Bahston accent! Quote
RobbyZ5001 Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 City Limits FLW Bassmaster elites In fisherman WFN I disslike Roland, hank, bill, and jimmy. I don't learn much from them fishing stocked ponds. Quote
MFCoopHKD Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 Since being able to get back to Versus I have set my DVR to record just about any fishing show I could find... well bass fishing anyways. By far my fav is City Limits Fishing. It seems to be the only goal orientated show. I feel that some of the other shows is all about selling a specific product that wont even work on my home lake.
