bwell Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 On Sunday me and a couple other people went to a powerpland lake and fished from 9-5:30. The water temperature was 60-62 (they weren't pumping water), depth ranged from 2-5 feet, it was a little windy, and the water was stained. We fished the coves and points, throwing jigs, lipless cranks, senkos, and spinning baits. The whole day only ended up with 3 bass on white spinning baits near the end of the day. There was a tournament going on that day so I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not, but it didn't look like anyone was catching any fish. Should we have gone to the deeper water? Super User fishfordollars Posted March 16, 2010 Super User Posted March 16, 2010 Who knows, but I'll promise you I keep moving and trying different things until I get bit. Makes no sense to continue to do the same things without a different result. Quote
BigEbass Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Yeah, if something isnt working, then I change it up to find what works. Weather it be the spot I am fishing, depth, water clarity, wind protected area vs. a windblown point, flats with submerged grass. I think finding the fish is the hardest part for sure in general! I look for any cues like birds, breaks and other cues for bait fish then key in on that area. It is perfectly possible that the fish were holding a bit deeper staging on those points and the like - I just work the water column till I find them to establish my "milk run" - but sometimes I dont figure them out either so whatcha gonna do Quote
