Avalonjohn44 Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Didn't know if this was inappropriate to post or not, and I don't want to get political, but this is unbelievable... http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/saltwater/news/story?id=4975762.
Super User firefightn15 Posted March 9, 2010 Super User Posted March 9, 2010 Your right, it may end up locked but it is well worth the read. Not for the political aspect but for the possible end result.
Super User BrianinMD Posted March 9, 2010 Super User Posted March 9, 2010 Hopefully everyone will act appropriately and keep it on topic, not political. This information needs to get out there.
ichigo Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 well i dont think it will happen this year because a lot of people will lose jobs and fishing stores will close people will lose jobs as well
MarauderYak Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Hopefully everyone will act appropriately and keep it on topic, not political. This information needs to get out there. But it is political, AND a very important subject to fishermen. If you don't voice your thoughts to politicians, you ARE going to see more and more restrictions on fishing. There's no need for any OTHER political commentary, but I don't see why any moderator should have issue with discussing politics that specifically involves fishing.
JigMe Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Not trying to be politically or anything. He is trying to create more jobs, and by doing this ban, I don't think it's good for the job market. Especially, our unemployment rate is at record high.
Pitchinkid Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I can not put in words on here what i really want to say. What i can say is, we all need to speak or write to our congressman or local government and show what feel for our Sport. I get sick thinking about what is happening with this administration.
Super User J Francho Posted March 9, 2010 Super User Posted March 9, 2010 Hate to say this, but you should have been writing those letters starting back in October. This is not new news: http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/bassmaster/conservation/news/story?page=b_con_FedsAccess_20091005 The thought is that this is primarily aimed at commercial fishing, though no distinction is made in their interim report, released last fall. That's the scary part, Fed controlling fishing rights. If you haven't already started, I recommend monthly letters to your local representatives.
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted March 9, 2010 BassResource.com Administrator Posted March 9, 2010 Wow guys, it took 30 mins for this thread to spiral downward into a political attack. Posts removed, thread locked, let's move on. Sorry, but ya'll just proved why we cannot have even the slightest hint of political topics here, regardless of merit.
