I like "Lunker" by Bob Underwood. It's a different approach to the subject in that he writes based on observations made while scuba diving.

Buck Perry's book: Spoonplugging. Nothing else has been, or ever will be, as informative and helpful to the majority of fishermen/women in this country.

X2. I rarely end a day that was less than spectacular without spoonplugging a few laps around the lake. Caught some of my biggest fish doing this.

You don't hear about too many folks using spoonplugging to find bass these days. I think the proliferation of electronics in fishing seems to lessen the need to actually perform underwater mapping, as this technique provides.

But more than that is the total insight and knowledge that Perry so willingly gives to folks, that is so incredible. No other "teacher" has given more to the sport. And like you say, ColdwaterBassin, it works all the time - if you read, head and apply the methodology outlined in his great book. It's funny that not many people today talk about it....or Perry for that matter.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Tracking Trophy Bass by John Hope?  Or have one to sell?  I've checked Amazon and Ebay with no luck.

Thanks...

Hmmmm... Yes..sort of.

It is printed and sold through a small outfit. I bought it last year.

Google it. I cannot remember the full title, and my office is torn apart right now -painting.  Tracking Lunker Bass...

I found it through Google -it's there. Sorry I can't help further right now.

Thanks Paul, I found it on google, didn't come up on my other search engine for some reason.  I would attach the link for others but the site isn't letting me for some reason.

I can see where you are coming from.  I had a conversation with Iaconelli about my side imaging depth-finder.  He stressed the importance of feeling the bottom terrain with crank-baits or other discovery type lures and to keep in mind that electronics are just a tool; you still need to do the grunt work.

Spoonplugging is a great read, totally changed the way I think about fishing in general, not just bass fishing.  I learn something new every time I re-read that book!

Having said that, I will probably never catch a bass on an actual Spoonplug:)

The biggest mistake people make is thinking Elwood Buck Perry wrote only about Spoonplugging ;)

I have only read 7-8 books so far as a beginner and some of the ones suggested may be better than mine.

Homer Circle - Bass Wisdom was a great read for me as a beginner.

Bill Siemantel - Bigg Bass Zone - I dont use such "big baits", havent tried, but the concepts of how to fish in his book seemed to make alot of since, and I have maded improvements since I think.

I would like to read this book by buck perry, seems everyone likes it, and I am trying to become much more in tune with structure now (I am far from there).
