StCroix_207 Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 I'm die hard about bass fishing...and my favorite technique is certainly Texas rigged soft plastics. Over the last two years i've expanded to a fairly well rounded fisherman, but there is one thing that i haven't tried. I've never considered Carolina Rigging. Any tips are welcomed. From the plastics you use, how long the leader, and where to throw it. Thanks Jim Quote

NCbassproAK Posted March 24, 2009 Posted March 24, 2009 Love the carolina rig man...especially in the summer you can cover a vast amount of water and stucture def on points man or drop offs. Most of the time I start to use this rig right when the females come off the beds. I use french fry worm or the double ringger from zoom its my deadliest bait man. Quote
cwen Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Great technique. The thing I love best about it is that it really lets you know what the bottom composition is. If you use tungsten weights, you can get a feel for what you are fishing and can cover water fairly quickly or as slow as you want. I also lie to tie the leader first because you can then use a polomar knot for both the leader and the main line. Quote
Super User eyedabassman Posted March 25, 2009 Super User Posted March 25, 2009 Another great bait for a C-rig is a floating tube or a floating worm! And evan small crankbaits! Quote

J.McKnight Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 The best advise I got when I was learning to c-rig is to use a HEAVY weight. I fish a 1oz. egg weight. The c-rig has a totaly different feel than a Tx rig in my opinion. It is an AWESOME technique when you figure it out. Try useing the 1oz. weight it will help you learn the feel Quote
