Mike D from Lunkerville Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 A member from my nybass.com forum had a great idea. Start a petition to Time Warner DEMANDING WFN! If you subscribe to Time Warner Cable and want fishing shows 24/7, then please reply to this thread with a brief explanation why you think TW should carry WFN. I'll put together a PDF document when we're done and email it to TWC to show them that WE WANT WFN! Thanks a lot guys! I know LunkervisionHD is cool and free on the web, but imagine watching Lunkerville and all the best fishing shows on TV on your new High Def Flat Screen that you got for Christmas?! Quote
seyone Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Mike, do you know when Comcast will be getting WFN? Quote
Mike D from Lunkerville Posted January 8, 2010 Author Posted January 8, 2010 WFN recently made a deal with Comcast! It's being rolled out into local markets and right now it's available in Florida and Michigan. Quote
seyone Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 that is great can't wait till it comes to Philly. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Follow this link to request that your provider (DTV, Comcast, ETC) get WFN: http://www.wfn.tv/demand/contest.php Make a phone call or two as well, what do you have better to do? Actually work??? Quote
Skunked in DR Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 So do I. I think awesome is a bit of a stretch. Like anything there are some great shows (Lunkerville, Extreme Angler, Gettin School'd), some right dross and then some stuff I just don't care about, like fly fishing tuesdays. It's worth having just to have the option of watching fishing anytime. Quote
brushhoggin Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 i spent my christmas at my aunt and uncles house in germantown watching this channel hours on end. i'd never even heard of it! i'll sign the petition. it should be on tv cause fishing had always been popular and its pickin up even more. people will watch. Super User cart7t Posted January 8, 2010 Super User Posted January 8, 2010 Demanding? Exactly what is our leverage that allows us to demand anything? Quote
VABassin'14 Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Demanding? Exactly what is our leverage that allows us to demand anything? We are the ones keeping them in business. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted January 8, 2010 Super User Posted January 8, 2010 Get rid of cable. Go with satellite. We had one of the worst, Charter. When we got an hd tv, I called to see when they would offer hd programming in our town, and was told it wasn't even on the radar screen. OK, thanks, I'll get Dish or Direct, and also get channels we have wanted but you don't offer. Got Dish installed and told Charter to discontinue their service, except for broadband. By the time Westport gets the latest technology from phone or cable, other communities are switching to newer technology. We are the ugly step sister when it comes to electronic wire services. Regarding WFN. It may only be broadcast in hd. Cannot get it on the other two non hd televisions. Quote
arul Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 Heck I NEED Directv and Versus to come to an agreement already.... considering Versus is owned by a big competitor to the dish- Comcast, doubt it will happen though > :'( :'( Quote
Cburgert Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 That would be great if it came to comcast, I have Versus and that channel isn't all that great. There's too much of everything and not enough fishing shows. Quote
b.Lee Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I don;'t watch much TV but I will always support Lunkerville, Mike D and Fishing! Quote
405z06 Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I had never heard of this network until it showed up on my HD Premium Tier (AT&T Uverse). A full-time fishing channel that is all HD? I was like a kid at Christmas! The Mariko Izumi shows are unwatchable, but most of the programs are of high quality, well produced, and all in HD, of course. Highly recommended! Quote
Super User burleytog Posted January 9, 2010 Super User Posted January 9, 2010 The good thing about WFN is that you only have to watch one day a month. Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 I switched from Comcast to Verizon Fios just to get WFN. A girl called me from Comcast to ask why I switched to Fios and I told her that Comcast didn't have WFN and Fios did. Well, this girl grew up in Minnesota and was a big muskie fisherman (or should I say fisherwoman). We ended up talking about Muskie fishing for about 10 minutes. P.S. This is my 1000th Post!!! I finally moved up in title!!!! Quote
trevor Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 id watch it all the time! im dying of winter-not-fishing Quote
jdw174 Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 The only gripe I have with WFN is that they keep running the same shows over and over, and most of those aren't that new. Good programming, yes, but how about some new episodes? Quote
Danny1991 Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 Dump cable and get Dish Network!! WFN, Vs. channel, Outdoor channel, ESPN 2, My t.v. is always on one of the 4 ;D Quote

Good programming, yes, but how about some new episodes? you just can't get enough shows to satisfy your craving for exciting TV fishing action JDW! they do tend to repeat shows... i mean, they are only airing fishing shows all day and night, which is awesome... Lunkerville airs 12 times a week and WFN will mix it up throughout the week; airing a new show then an older one. regarding new Lunkerville episodes: look for 26 new shows in the next 12 months with the first 13 rolling out between Nov. 2009 and April 2010 Quote

Highly recommended! i have to agree with you on the Mariko Izumi Show, its the only thing that makes me change the channel, i dont mind the repetition since i surf the net an watch tv at the same , i dont really pay attention to the tv at times and so when i catch the show again i can pay attention to the parts i didnt i like watching all the shows even the fly fishing tuesdays but Lunkerville, Gettin schooled , Bass edge and Scott Marting Challenge are my faves. bocabasser Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 i have att uverse. i used to have direct tv and att uverse blows direct tv away. i have the package that includes wfn and i believe we only pay $5 extra a month. it is well worth it. demanding a cable company put a channel on just doesn't make sense. these companies have to make money. besides, $5 extra a month is not gaffing anyone. jmo Quote
Revo_Carrot Stix Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I have Dish Network and WFNHD is available in the premium of premium HD packages - so you have to spend an extra $120/year to get this channel (in addtional to the top HD package that includes Versus and Outdoor channel). I can't justify $120/year when I can get 90% bass fishing programs on Versus and Outdoor channel. I'll spend that money on tackle!!!! Quote
