Super User Catt Posted January 26, 2010 Super User Posted January 26, 2010 Deep water structure while fishing a Texas Rigged worm & Jig-N-Craw Quote
opie Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 From shore before the marina opened the gate on a texas rigged, 5 inch, weightless, blue/black senko. Quote

ttufishinman Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 cant beat an old thumper spinnerbait or a buzzbait Quote
jb7725 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 never caught a 10+ (i live in NY, but im searching for one haha) but i do alot of night fishing. i cought my share of 5+ pounders night fishing with both black single colorado bladed spinner baits and also a 10 inch power worm Quote
Wild Bill [NY] Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I have caught numerous ten-pounders at night, but I always awaken from those dreams before I can get to see what lure I was using. Har, Har, Har !! Seriously though, all of my REALLY big fish have come on bright sunny days, mid-day or close to it. I have caught seven-plus pounders from five different states, and an 8-pounder from California waters. Quote
Bass_Akwards Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I think you'll find that if you really pay attention, you'll notice that more huge bass will be caught on a 3/4 moon phase (waxing or waning) than at any other time in the moon phase. What's sick is lots of people fish the full moon religiously, but what they don't realize is that the 3/4 moon phase is so strong that many of the bass have already gorged themselves by the time the full moon comes, and many times, especially the ponds I fish here in Colorado, the bite is way off on the night of a full moon. Catt hit it on the head though. Fish the outside of key deep water structure and hold on tight. Quote
A-Rob Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Loomis says he catches bigger bass the day or two after a full moon....I think it was on bass edge. He based that on less fishing pressure and some other factors that don't really apply to me up north where the water temp never gets warm enough to bother night fishing instead of day fishing haha. Taylor Fishin 4 life Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 i was with my uncle when he put a 12.9 in the boat at fork. back in the stumps Quote
1234567 Posted February 3, 2010 Author Posted February 3, 2010 We usually do good with topwater here, but this past full moon phase topwater was producing very little action. Dragging worms slowly across the bottom worked this time. Just when I thought I had a good idea of what they wanted and when??? Quote
tholmes Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 cant beat an old thumper spinnerbait or a buzzbait +1^ No ten pounders, but I've caught some respectable (by Kansas standards) bass on a big, black single-blade spinnerbait running it just far enough under the surface so that it just barely leaves a wake. Super User bilgerat Posted February 3, 2010 Super User Posted February 3, 2010 Can't claim a ten pounder yet but got a 7 on a black jitterbug last June. Quote
