I am pretty curious as to how everyone here has done in a particular day. If you wouldn't mind, i would like to see how many 4 lb bass you have boated on one particular outing on a lake. Now, when i say 4 pounds, please don't round up the 3.12's or 3.14's to a four. I'm talking legitimate 4 pounders in the boat. (smallmouth are included)

1.What lake (or say county if the lake is too top secret)

2. How many 4 lbs (anything over 4 is included)

3. Lure of choice

For me, just to start if off, the most i personally have landed over 4 in one outing is 18. It was an overcast day in June in Otter tail county Minnesota and my old man and I were hitting a reed line 100 yards off the shore. It usually is good for a few fish over 3 and maybe a 4 every other time. This particular day, i think every 4 pound fish in the lake was swimming in this reed line for who knows why and it was every cast for an hour and a half, my dad and i caught a 4+lb bass. Several were over 5 but in the lower end & none hit the 6 mark and we had our line snapped at least 5 times each by the fish pulling us through the weeds. So, we could have missed a few bigger ones but to be honest, every 4+ fought so hard we couldn't tell the difference till we saw them. My dad and i have always been competitive, so after every fish was caught, it was immediately weighed. The weeds came up from ten feet below so it was a nice hang out area. It was the biggest sense of whiplash i have ever had fishing.

1. otter tail county (public lake surprisingly)

2. 18

3. berkeley worm

Closest i came to 18 was 11 but this took the whole day. These 18 came within an hour and a half. Never had another experience since like this.

Here are some pictures from January, 2005. These

fish were caught the Saturday before the two in

my avatar. On this outing, I caught fifteen smallmouth,

eight over 5 lbs.

8-)

That is unbelievable. Experiencing that with smallmouth would just be unreal. Truly one of greatest smallmouth fishing days i have ever heard of.

Chain of lakes in a housing complex in Estero Florida

I think the number was 24, it may have been 25.

14 were over 7 pounds and 3 over 9(40 pound 1 oz. limit)

Lucky Craft crank baits, Anaconda and Power Hawgs

this was 7 days after I caught the 11 pounder in my pic.

1. Lake El Salto

2. Absolutely no doubt I caught over 30 4+ pounders that day.  I'd say 40 of the 50+ fish I caught that day were 4+ but I'm going to say 30 on this thread for the sake of making sure I don't look like I'm full of it.

3. Buzzbaits in the morning.  In the Afternoon I threw

7'' Yammy Lizards/Watermellon W/Bl FLK.  Dipped the tails in Chartruse garlic dip and couldn't keep them off my line.

As I read this thread, I really start to hate living in Illinois.  Anyway, one day on Deep Quarry, I had two over 4#s.  And once on clear lake in mazonia I had one over 4#s.  Boogiebaits and spinners got mine.

Honestly I haven't got a clue. My fishing bud & I fish Lake Fork & we almost always have multiple 5lbs+ days, but I don't have an exact number.

Our best day on Fork we caught bass weighing 9lbs, 6lbs 4oz, 6lbs 3oz, 5lbs 12oz, & a couple of 4 pounders between 8:00 - 9:00 AM on April 4th 2009. Insane morning.

18 MN LM over 4. Man, that's a big day. Curious: How many of those were over 5? Over 6?

I only had 3 over 5 pounds of the 18. No 6's. They hang out in their own little world. Plus not one of the 5's were over 5.8.

I know this shouldn't count because my fish are on steroids but here are the results of one day of fishing last spring. All fish were caught on hollow body frogs.

The crazy thing is that those numbers should increase by 1.5 to 2 lbs this Spring. We'll see. It's an increadable fishery.

You can get on schools of smallies on Champlain, Erie, and Ontario and bang out dozens of fish over 4 pounds. I know I have done a few days of 30 smallies over 4 pounds.

Largemouth, my record is 26 while goofing around / prefishing one day on Champlain. It was actually for the Weekend Series T I won on smallies. All the fish came on jigs and spinnerbaits. Had 9 over 5 and 5 over 6. Had nothing left for thumbs.

Champlain is just one of those special places.  :)

Fishing in Virginia I only have a few days with multiple 4lb+ bass.  On my yearly trip to Florida I have had days where each of us caught over 10 LMB that were over 4 pounds.

If you fish in PA or MI the chances of you catching multiple 4lb fish in a day are less than if you are fishing in TX, FL, GA or CA.  Size is mostly about location.  The second contributing factor is the amount of time you are on the water.  The more you fish the greater your chance of catching big fish.

My home lake is a documented dink factory but I caught a lot of fish over 4lbs with the biggest at 6lb 1oz.  Don't get down on yourself

Wow I suck

If you are willing to take a roadtrip that attitude would change.
