Super User Raul Posted January 6, 2010 Super User Posted January 6, 2010 Yeah, I 'm in bass fishing paradise, theoretically speaking we can bass fish year round, but the past 3 weeks pardise hasn 't been so paradisiatic as it should be, man, the danged weather SUCKS !!!!!!!!!! > > > if it ain 't raining then it 's been too windy to go wet a line, or rains and it 's windy :-/. Haven 't been able to go fishing, haven 't been able to break in my new reel, I 'm starting to hear voices ....... and it ain 't good cuz it 's th BaitMonkey !!! :, and worse, I 'm starting to pay attention to him. The hell with it, let me order a couple of them Fuegos on sale, don 't mind TW raised the price to $145, don 't need them but what else I can do other than kill some time purchasing tackle ? Gotta support the economy ya know. Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted January 6, 2010 Super User Posted January 6, 2010 Wow - hang in there big guy...it will get better. I went fishing today. It was 28 degrees, I was tossing a spoon in an open piece of water that looked like a swimming pool - the surface water temp was 33 degrees in the open patch. The rest of the lake surface is frozen. I was watching the water surface start to freeze right where I was standing on the bank. Then my line guides on the rod kept icing up and I kept having to clear them. Then my fingers went from stinging to numb so I decided to call it a day. Didn't catch a thing... But at least I got to go fishing! ;D ;D Quote
Super User Shane J Posted January 6, 2010 Super User Posted January 6, 2010 Man, I hear ya! That Monkey's been all over me. Today alone I bought an STX and a Fuego! Spring better hurry up. Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted January 6, 2010 Super User Posted January 6, 2010 I have a feeling that with Raul - it's not a "bait monkey" ... it's a "bait gorilla" - look out ! Quote
Super User firefightn15 Posted January 7, 2010 Super User Posted January 7, 2010 Do not go into the light, look away and remember your breathing exercises. ;D Quote
Bass_Akwards Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Considering you wrote "A 10-11 pound northern strain is a really big northern, while a 10 pound Florida is barely a "good fish". That basically means a 6 pound LMB for you is a "dink." If that's really your experience where you fish, I don't know whether to feel amazingly sorry for you because you can't fish, or call you amazingly spoiled. Either way, you're one lucky dude so don't feel TO bad. Quote
joshuaryan Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 This is why I wait until spring to go back out there. Quote
seyone Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Sorry but I just can't feel bad for you, right now it is a toasty 25 degrees out up here. Tomorrow it will be the warmest it has been in weeks 33.:'( Quote

RedhookRR Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Sorry but I just can't feel bad for you, right now it is a toasty 25 degrees out up here. Tomorrow it will be the warmest it has been in weeks 33.:'( Seyone can I come stay with you? Its -31 when I left work tonight. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted January 7, 2010 Super User Posted January 7, 2010 Raul as you can see from some of the comments, those of us to your north aren't very sympathetic to your rain and wind. temps are going to be in single digits and below zero (Fahrenheit), 5" of snow, and winds to 35MPH for the next few days here in the Midwest. Just put on some rain gear and man up. ;D Quote
Brute Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 I live in Clearwater Fl. and they are predicting snow here for the first time in 34 years. I just might be cuddling up with the bait monkey this weekend as well. Just don't tell my wife. Brute Quote
simplejoe Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Raul I don't feel bad for you, You'll have nice weather next week. Right now it's 21 degrees and tonight were getting another 6 inches of snow on top of the foot we already got. I go out and plow the snow on my quad atleast that's keeping my busy. Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted January 7, 2010 Super User Posted January 7, 2010 Does anyone know if TW is publicly traded? If so, I wonder if this would be the right time to buy their stock - with Raul getting ready to go shopping and all...;D Quote
angler1 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 O Sorry but I just can't feel bad for you, right now it is a toasty 25 degrees out up here. Tomorrow it will be the warmest it has been in weeks 33.:'( I am with you seyone, I am in south new Jersey 4 miles from Philly so we pretty much share the same weather. Quote
farmpond1 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 Wow! You sound like I do during the month of March! I've got some old Zebcos you can buy if you'd like. Quote
tholmes Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 You're not gonna get any sympathy from me either Today, it's 10 degrees with a 20-30 mph NW wind. My local fishing holes have a foot or more of ice on them, and the next couple of nights are predicted to be -10. But, on a positive note, I just picked up some Lake Fork 'Live' Magic shad in both the 3.5"and 4.5" sizes for $1.00 a pack on clearance at the local Wal-Mart. ;D Tom Quote
