angler1 Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 As I shop for x-mas gifts for my family the bait monkey is on my back about the amount of $ being spent on everyone. He thinks I need to buy some new rods and reels for myself. I don't know if I can hold him off much longer. Can anyone help me? Quote

Yep - right on the inside front cover - a great deal - $2k less than the 2009 catalog. Luckily, I'm not tempted to spend over 20k on a boat though - the little lakes I fish range from 4 to 204 acres so I don't need a 60mph rig ;D I will be getting a canoe within the next few months though - much more in my price range : Quote

I think both will produce good in the stained water we have around here. As for the boat I'm torn between an 09 triton 18 explorer maxxed out w/ a 115 or the z7 w/ the 150. The triton is 18,900 w/ dual console and I think the resale value would hold better also. The new bps mag is loaded with good deals too. Good luck on making it through the book without spending a small fortune What part of tn do you live? Quote

It may only be like 3 bucks, but I always gotta make one purchase! I do that in WalMart - always need another Roostertail or whatever... I know what you are talking about. At wal-mart alone, I have bought a pack of tube heads, round jig heads, worm hooks, a rapala huskey jerk, bandit crankbait, bag of bleeding tubes, strike king senkos, cotton cordell lipless crankbait, and who knows what else. All of this since Chrismas day. Never bought more than three items in one visit. Oh yeah, I forgot my new $131 pair of native polarized sunglasses. I wonder what happened to all of my Christmas money? Quote
