panseco Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Here in west Arkansas today at 2:15 pm it has not even got up to freezing. Wanted to go wet a line but not today. Quote
Super User Paul Roberts Posted December 9, 2009 Super User Posted December 9, 2009 Sorry to hear your troubles. Sounds like you'll have to wait a few days. Me...I gotta wait a couple months. Others are bound to pipe in that they won't be (open water) fishing 'till May. It's been below 0F the last week here. This week, it MIGHT hit the freezing mark. I'm psyched! Quote
Gangley Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Jeez, thats a stinker. Water Temp here is 67 degrees, almost too cold for me to bother getting out on it Quote

Bass_Akwards Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 Paul, I'm doing my best to win the lottery, so I can build and own the first indoor lake here in Boulder. That way we'll have no problem catching 23+ inch bass Nov- February. Since I'll be importing countless Florida strain LMB's and feeding them as many rainbow trout as they can eat all year around, one of us should have a world record way before March. Quote
RobE Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 I hear ya, panseco. I can tolerate the temp, it's just these dang 30 mph winds! > Quote
RazorBassin Posted December 9, 2009 Posted December 9, 2009 It got a little over freezing here in Little Rock, but the wind chill has been in the teens. I heading out on Friday to the Arkansas River over here and see if I can catch a few. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted December 10, 2009 Super User Posted December 10, 2009 Sad to say that we just got our first major snowstorm of the season! 7" was dumped on us in about 4 hours. All the ramps around here are un-accessible. Plenty of open water yet, but with the below freezing weather over the next few days, that'll probably change as well. Now all I can do is mark off each day on the calendar until March 1st. arrives. Quote
Super User Paul Roberts Posted December 10, 2009 Super User Posted December 10, 2009 Don't wanta one-up anybody, but this might make you feel better. The last week or a little more has brought below zero temps for lows. My wife's the schoolteacher in our little two-room school, and the kids haven't had an outdoor recess longer than 10 minutes in over a week. It's insane over there. We finally got up into the single digits last night, but 50mph winds w/70mph gusts came in (it's a common Rocky Mountain thing). Despite the boiler running straight through the night the thermostat read 57F in the living room this morning. The faucets on the west side of the house are frozen so I've got space heaters going as I type. Wish I'd turned 'em on last night! : Wind hardened snow drifts buried ... never mind, you get the picture. So, enjoy your couple days off from fishing. And don't forget to SMILE! Quote

Todd, you might be better off moving! But I'll buy a ticket to -for the cause. Hey...have you perused the Arsenal yet? It's the closest thing we have to what you are after. Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted December 10, 2009 BassResource.com Administrator Posted December 10, 2009 It's been below freezing for several days now in my area, but no snow at least. Temps got down into the single digits last night. It hasn't broke 25 degrees yet today - forecast is for low 30's...a warming trend! Woo hoo! Quote
simplejoe Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 The temp isn't too bad here. Yesterday we had 50 + mph winds that ripped off some of my shingles on the back side of my house. > I know what I'll be doing this weekend. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted December 10, 2009 Super User Posted December 10, 2009 It was 6° when I got up this morning. The high has been 29° but my boat has been in the glass shop from a careless driver Tboning me on Sept 10 and I am supposed to get it back today. I don't care if the low tonight is going to be 15° and the high tomorrow at 35°, I'm taking that boat out. Quote
HuntFishAK Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 We've had single digit lows all week. Today it broke the 20's for the first time all week. Quote

I've been dying to get to RMA. Absolutely never go due to sheer lazyness and the good fishing 5-15 minutes fro my house. I've heard great things and seen great photos of big ole hogs from RMA as well. I also heard you dont have to take that class in the morning any more to enter the grounds. I will crush that place next spring and summer for sure. Can't wait! Quote
L a r r y Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Here in west Arkansas today at 2:15 pm it has not even got up to freezing. Wanted to go wet a line but not today. You are right across the bridge where I am originally from. Don't get to upset, the weather has gotten us locked up in the house here in TX also. Sunday is suppose to be in the mid 60's, I think I'll go scout a few ponds then Quote
Gangley Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 All of you guys are crazy trying to live in that weather. I would rather take 105 degree summer than a 0 degree winter any day of the week. Quote
kms399 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 its really not that bad the weather here is around 6 degrees and I wore my shorts and a coat to the store to get some milk. i did get some looks though. ;D in a way I am glad for the break from fishing, it insures I dont get burnt out and it gives me a couple months to accumulate new tackle and get all my stuff taken care of. BassBandit35 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 From my door to boat launch is 2 miles to heat power lake. The water there is always in upper 60's from Dec to March Quote
