Did that for customer's many times. It is easy to look up a rewards member info, and credit them their discount amount.

In this case it wasn't rewards but literally a $10 off $50 purchase coupon, so they had nothing to go on but my word. There was nothing to look up.

In that case, we would have been briefed that coupons had been sent out, and if you mentioned one, then you probably did have one. That was good customer service that guy provided. I just got one a month ago in the mail, so they still send them out..the bait monkey is calling me. ;)

I agree with Stasher1.  If you order anything from BPS online you can be assured that BPS will be sending you catalog after catalog, and flyer after flyer.

I wish I got a 10 off 50. I always seem to get the 20 off 100 IF it's an online order. Once you get to 100 dollars, the shipping is 13 dollars so really it's only 7 dollars off 100.

What do you do when the bar code doesn't ring up,I tell them it doesn't ring up there for it doesn't belong in the store because its not in your inventory, so how much for something you do not have a price for.Free right, nope Ive had them drop the price, and or take the item back, and told me they were sorry that they cant sell the item. Also they tell you to check back in a few days for the matter to be straiten out.And to my knowledge computer sales are totally different then your stores, warehouse dealers ext. they all do the same, but yet they're different.

Not that I agree with it, but most stores don't honor internet catalog prices - shipping handling and all that stuff makes the stores inventory more costly.

Really??  I've never had a problem with this, I have printed the price from the internet take it to the store and they have always honored the price, without any hassle.  As far as shipping cost in store, moving the stock in mass quantities as they do, there is minimal cost is getting the stock from the factory to the store.  Additionally BPS has warehouses and shippping centers throughout the country to minimize this cost per item even more.  You can bet it doesn't cost them $14 a rod to get it to the store, but it will cost you that much to get it to your house out of the catalogues.

I have had the same issues with them more than once. I always carry the catalog and or print the online price/ad. It is a good idea to do this because I have found that regular priced items in the catalog or online are cheaper than the store prices so I try and make a grocery list so to speak with prices to refer to it might only be .50 cents but it all adds up at the end. it is all a little deceptive if you ask me. But they always fix it. It may take extra time but they will make it right.

Was at BPS last night - after reading this post - I carried my catalog with me - when I got to the register, the item on sale for $29.99 rang up at $44.99 - I said "no" and whipped out the catalog - the cashier looked it over and said, "yeah, but these prices are only good until December 31st" - I said "Dude, it's December 1st today!" - took him about 20 minutes to do the discount and mark the overring - LOL!

I personally have not had any bad experiences with BPS, but after hearing these things that keep coming up while reading around on here. I might start looking at some other sites to buy my gear from.

I'm not sure why everyone else has so many problems. I went in there today to get the Pro Qualifier that's on sale online for 80 so after reading all this I printed it out before I left because they're about an hour away but ended up leaving the paper in my car. I went up to the person working the reel counter and asked if they honored online sale prices and he said yeah and when I went to pay he rung it up for 75 dollars. Great customer service and very friendly people.

I have spent  $$$ at BPS and never had any problems that they didn't take care of professionally. I think you will like that PQ reel. It is a steal at that price. :)

You guys are lucky,I have no BPS close by!

Not having one too close ain't all bad. Getting in and out of the store without braking the budget can be challenging. :)

Not to jump the shark here but has anyone bought stuff from Barnes & Noble online and then went to the store? Their pricing is different also. For some companies it is just standard practice to have different pricing online, in catalog, and in the store.

By no means am I defending it but from a dollars and cents standpoint it makes sense. It cost less money to house things in a warehouse than to have them on a shelf in store because of all the overhead costs associated.

I see it more of an issue with the employees not wanting to do the work of giving the discount because god forbid they actually do something!

That's just my 2 cents... You can rip me now.
