The day I landed my biggest bass, I didn't have any scale, ruler or camera.

I decided to keep her for my den, and laid her down next to the gunwale.

Her weight unbalanced my boat, and water came rushing over the gunwale like a waterfall!!!

To prevent my boat from swamping, I had no choice but to quickly toss her back in the lake.

I will not hazard a guess as to her weight & length, for fear of being accused of a "fish story"

Roger

unbalanced your boat?!?! :o come on, out of all the fish youve caught, surely you can come up with a ballpark within 2 lbs, i'll believe you

I was hoping that my story was absurd enough to liberate me from providing a weight. ;D

I suppose that such a preposterous scenario is remotely possible if I were fishing for mako shark

from a 12-ft aluminum rowboat, but NOT my biggest bass ::)  :D

My biggest (longest) was 24 1/2inches and I didn't have a scale but I keep a tape measure in my tacklebox. I guessed her to be around 6-7lbs but without a scale one can only guess. ::) I did take a quick pic before I let her go.

Mine was at Spring Lake, here in Santa Rosa, CA. It measured 24 inches and weighed 8 pounds. My dad and i were fishing all afternoon and didnt catch anything, and right before the park closed, that fish came along and made my day! Caught it wacky rigging a 4.5in storm rattle finesse worm in the holographic purple color. I thought my rod was going to break (it was a cheap old spinning combo with old line used in both salt and fresh water. Looking back, I'm glad nothing went wrong because it wouldnt have taken much for that to be a lost fish...)

Longest smallie 19.5 inches

Longest Largemouth 23.75inches

Smallie was caught on a black/blue chatterbait with a Zoom vibra craw trailer

Largemouth was caught on a double propped buzzbait chart/white don't remember the manufacturer.
