-HAWK- Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Do you ever feel that the best Fishing conditions always fall on days that your working?!?? I wake up today, We have the first Front of the Fall moving in, overcast skies, temps at about 77 degrees. Nice breeze out of the WNW at 6mph. But I guess when you work 6 days a week the odds are stacked against you, to have the best days fall on a work day. :D Quote
SoFl-native Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I dont think this will have any effect on them down here. This was barely a cool front. It faded and just sort of rolled down on us. We will get our first real front some time in October usually.....i will be fishing somewhere on that rainy, windy day it comes in. It was nice to drive to work with the sunroof open for the first time in 3 months though. Quote
-HAWK- Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 The fact that its 77degrees outside and overcast makes it a PERFECT day. ;D ;D ;D Yesterday was 90 with 100% humidity, and very little cloud cover. Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted September 30, 2009 Super User Posted September 30, 2009 Further north where I am located it is absolutley incredible today but I don't feel well enough to go out.Temp 68 this morning and wind 6-10 out of the NW and a sheet of high overcast. Best morn. I seen in months. This heat needs to be over like yesterday and we got more out it coming this weekend. No I am not working right now but believe me I agree I been stuck too many times working and drooling over the conditions especially during the highly coveted pre-frontal conditions cuz we all know what happens here after the high pressure and sun sets in afterwards. slider head Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 First frost warning posted this morning for our area tonight. I used to love winter....now I depise it! It should be a high of 77 and a low of 65 all the time. Man I am getting old! Quote

Mottfia Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I'm in college so the best day to fish in fall is when I get a chance. Tho this cold front has me jumping to go. luckily I get to fish a tournament this weekend so lets hope that this weekend is the best days to go fishing Mottfia Quote
JigMe Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Shoot. Any day is good for fishing as long as my wife is away...haha Quote
Elite Image Fishing Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 I am trying to figure out how to get out of work/school to take advantages of these cooler days... although we have been overcast for like 3 weeks straight with tons of rain. This let up has yielded cooler temps and bluebird skies. I must say it is lovely. Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted September 30, 2009 Super User Posted September 30, 2009 I felt that way every friggin week from the first of March until the end of May. Quote

Don't feel bad...........I killed them yesterday both fresh and saltwater, today I didn't have a strike, 4-8 am on the beach and 90 minutes in my pond and canal. Quote

Wow, I'm really surprised you didn't do well. Even though the fishing stunk, the weather was great though right. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 30, 2009 Super User Posted September 30, 2009 I suggest ONLY fishing on days ending with a "y". : Quote
-HAWK- Posted September 30, 2009 Author Posted September 30, 2009 I suggest ONLY fishing on days ending with a "y". : Now if I could only hit the Lottery, Id fish everyday ending in a "y" and even the ones that don't. Quote
bassmedic46 Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Any day that I can get out is a good one. Quote
Daniel My Brother Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Do you ever feel that the best Fishing conditions always fall on days that your working?!?? I agree 100%! I'll even schedule days off based on the forecast, too bad it's seldom accurate. The days I struggle the most are bluebird skies and falling temps. Those are live bait days to be sure. Quote
-HAWK- Posted October 1, 2009 Author Posted October 1, 2009 Another cool overcast day, and I'm at work once again. When I go fishing Sunday morning, the temps will be back up to 90 degrees and 100% humidity. Oh well, that's life. Quote
SoFl-native Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I am going to try and get out this afternoon. It is overcast now and will be until my boat touches the water.......then the sun will come out in full force. Quote

steezy Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 Everyday is the best day to fish, you wont always catch fish but sometimes its just fun to fish. Today was one of those weird days, the wind was blowing so hard that casting a crankbait with the wind carried it so far it almost emptied the spool, the water was choppy, it was very cloudy and they were biting like crazy. Caught several nice fish and even a 4 #'der. Quote
central_fl_fishin Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 First cool day of the year this morning. On the way to work I kept thinking about it. Got home this evening, threw the gear and family into the car to go eat dinner at the parents (who live on a great bass lake). Went out back and on the second cast caught a sweet 5lb'er. Used a muskrat (sweet beaver) t-rigged right off the grass line. Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 2, 2009 Super User Posted October 2, 2009 The best two fishing daysthe day before you get there & the day after you leave Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted October 3, 2009 Super User Posted October 3, 2009 In answer to your first post Hawk, please notice where that big old "L" out west has moved to this morning...... Sure happy that it's football season. Quote
-HAWK- Posted October 3, 2009 Author Posted October 3, 2009 Well Lund your always welcome in South Florida. I woke up this morning 75 Degrees, clear skies and a light breeze. It will stay this way through May, with the exception of a couple chilly nights (55 Degrees). ;D Quote
