Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted October 2, 2009 Super User Posted October 2, 2009 Definitely not my choice for a bait. Have heard a few guys around here catching big bass that cough up copperheads and cottonmouths Quote
Super User Catt Posted October 2, 2009 Super User Posted October 2, 2009 Think I'll stick with Rage Tail Anacondas Quote
Five-Alive Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 yes that is wild, I checked Snopes.com to see if this was an urban legend but nothing shows up yet so this may be the real deal. Quote
JigMe Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Shoot...I don't think I got the gut to pick a snack up, and use as bait. Quote
Bass Tracker Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 I think I will have to agree with Catt on this one. I hate snakes! Quote
Elite Image Fishing Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 That's pretty awesome. Wack a snake, catch a bass. If you ask me the snake waited to be bait.... he came towards the boat. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted October 2, 2009 Super User Posted October 2, 2009 Wow! That's nuts. And what happens if the snake bites the bass on the inside. Dead bass I suppose? I don't think this is the best idea for the angler or for catch and release. Quote
Captain Obvious Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Yep there crazy in that part of the state lol Had he ever heard of the Bass Professor plastic non-venomous snake?? Quote
SWH Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 crazy is right... not only is it crazy that it worked in getting such an amazing fish but the man has to be certifiably crazy for even thinking of bringing that snake in the boat much less attempting to pick it up and hook and unhook it! Quote
SWH Posted October 2, 2009 Posted October 2, 2009 Not to mention i agree with a few posters here. I hate snakes as well would not attempt it if it wasnt deadly. Id paddle the other way and hope it didnt follow Quote
mrlitetackle Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 yup, live rattle snake...... well, not only would i never get that up close and personal with a live rattler......i dont believe the thought would ever cross my mind to catch it, hook it up, and use that bad boy for bait! great job for that guy though... a little risky for me... breakyourrod Posted October 3, 2009 Posted October 3, 2009 that's pretty cool! I would concider doing it if I were in the same situation. It tried to get in his boat so he had to tame the beast. I would not go out looking for a rattler though! The best part is that he let the snake go when he was done. It was probably still alive. Quote
