kms399 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 what I have found is a possible brush pile/clump of stuff in 38 feet of water. I assume people sunk some stuff during ice fishing for crappie. I have never fished deeper than 18 feet or so and never had much luck deeper than 10 feet so I am not sure how to approach this. the lake has a depth clarity of around 5 feet. water temp as of tuesday was 82 degrees on average. this is a fairly small lake around 177 acres the spot is located in no mans land there is no other structure anywhere for a long way, and the bottom appears to be hard and fairly flat. i graphed the spot several times and I have determined it is pretty small I have a hard time finding it and staying on it. it comes up off the bottom 5 to 8 feet or so. and I would say it is probably a couple christmas trees. would you fish it? how would you fish it? Quitlimpin Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 1. Would you fish it? Hell yea I'd fish it. Isolated deep structure looks like easy money in a small lake 2. How would you fish it? Slab or jigging spoon Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted August 15, 2009 Super User Posted August 15, 2009 Good find! Definitely worth your time. I'd drop shot it for sure. But I'd use a heavier ds leader - 10# fluoro - and the hook would be one the diminutive Gamakatsu off-set worm hooks. They come in sizes like #2 and #1 (not 1/0!) and this makes presentation of a 4" - 6" worm just ideal! Good luck! Quote
tutle Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 I would mark it with a buoy , back off , and throw a plastic worm on it. Quote
Fat-G Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 I would mark it with a buoy , back off , and throw a plastic worm on it. That's what I was thinkin'. Quote
