Super User Bassn Blvd Posted August 2, 2009 Super User Posted August 2, 2009 Which do you prefer while fishing? I stand most of the time for most techniques except when I'm using worms. I find it hard to stand and fish slow. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 2, 2009 Super User Posted August 2, 2009 Stand always, but an occasional sit to rest. 8-) Quote
mudcats22 Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 always stand even if i do sit its on the edge of my seat Quote
seyone Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 The only time I sit is to rest or if I'm fishing from a kayak. Quote

tritz18 Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 I used to sit when I fished in a canoe but now I can stand in my other boat, so I stand all the time. I feel like I can't fish as well when I am sitting. Quote
Super User Catt Posted August 2, 2009 Super User Posted August 2, 2009 Both but with major back problems it's sitting more Quote
tutle Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 I stand . My boat came with a seat for the front , but it is in a closet. Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 Stand always, but an occasional sit to rest. 8-) Exactly what i do! I tried a hard hook set with a t-rig while sitting once and almost fell out of the boat!!! Quote
Super User Muddy Posted August 2, 2009 Super User Posted August 2, 2009 Sit and I prefer lower seats as to decked/high pedestals Quote
Super User grimlin Posted August 2, 2009 Super User Posted August 2, 2009 Stand,I find it awkward sitting down trying to set the hook.I fell off a rock once doing that. :-[ Quote
Super User Muddy Posted August 2, 2009 Super User Posted August 2, 2009 Why did you have a rock in the boat in the first place??? Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted August 2, 2009 Super User Posted August 2, 2009 I always stand...... Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted August 2, 2009 Super User Posted August 2, 2009 During the day, I always stand. At night I always sit unless I am throwing swimbaits. Dont know why I always sit while night fishing, but I always have. Quote
Daniel My Brother Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 More standing than sitting...but still plenty of sitting. Quote
I.rar Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 always stand. unless im out fishing for more than 3+ hours , OR if some buddies are around and drinks/BSing is involved. Quote
BassResource.com Advertiser FD. Posted August 2, 2009 BassResource.com Advertiser Posted August 2, 2009 Usually standing or on the leaning post. Quote
CJ Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 I stand always. No seat on the front deck. I would be opposite of the posters above if I did sit, I would be throwing something that had treble hooks on it. I pretty much use my whole body to set the hook using plastics. It usually starts with a step back. Quote
D4u2s0t Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 i do both, but probably stand more than sit. Quote
done Posted August 2, 2009 Posted August 2, 2009 If I can (depending on who is in the boat and how wake is), I will stand. Get a better view of what is going on and I have much more control while casting. That being said I do my fair share of sitting, and can be effective that way as well. The new rig I want to buy in the spring, that will be a standing rig. Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted August 2, 2009 Super User Posted August 2, 2009 I stand for as long as I'm able to, but sit frequently. These old bones can't take it standing all day any more! Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted August 2, 2009 Super User Posted August 2, 2009 Its easier for me to set the hook while I am standing. The only times I sit are when I am changing baits or eating. Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted August 2, 2009 Super User Posted August 2, 2009 Since I don't do any break dancing on the front deck (Ike style), I have either a sit down or stand up seat up front. For flipping and pitching, I prefer the stand up seat for everything else, especially deep cranking, I prefer a sit down. I have lower back issues so some type of sitting/leaning is better for me.
