aarogb Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I have never caught a fish on the first cast. I also don't it is bad luck if you do. Quote
adclem Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Me and my son went out this morning and he caught a nice 3lbs bass on the first cast and we did not get another bite the rest of the day! NOT ONE!!! So yeah I believe it is bad luck, at least at the moment.lol Later, Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 I have caught many on my first cast and it is almost always a good day! Quote
Tucson Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 With a fish on the first cast the pressure to not skunk out is gone. It's happened to me a couple of times. Real confidence builder! I don't think anyone has ever caught one on the "last cast" though. No one stops fishing just after catching one. Quote
BayouBassAssassin Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 I read your post earlier today before I went fishing. We got there and my dad caught a fish on his first cast before we even untied the boat from the dock. After about an hour of no fish, I started thinking about your post. In the next hour after that, I caught 3 and my dad caught 1 more. I don't think it's bad luck, at least it wasn't for me. Edit: I was having a great day a few weeks ago and near the end of my trip I was catching a fish almost every other cast. I decided when my last cast would be and caught one about 2 feet from the boat. I put the rod down and left happy ;D Quote
Hemi6677 Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. First cast, 3lb'er. Next two hours I stood there in the rain and didn't catch a thing. Quote
