I think that majority of people get a scale they will be disapointed, i know i was! big reality check to actually know the weight.  Having a scale also helps to better guess a fish' weight.  I don't weigh the 2-3 pounders, if i think it's bigger than 3 or 4 it's going on the scale.

I solved the problem of wondering weight by adding one of the new electronic scales to the boat. I got the Berkley digital at BPS on sale. As I recall it was about $20.

But really that beast cant weigh more then 2LBS, give or take a couple of OZS.
