nevadafishinkid Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Thank you i caught a twenty inch bass in a small pond up in the mountains bass dont grow much bigger than five pounds here so the bass was a little over twenty inches long and had a seventeen inch girth i think since it was spaanother siteng and stuff that it was around 5.5 to 6 pounds does that sound about right for the length and girth i used a wieght calculator and it said six i want your opinions though thanks for the help Quote
tnbassfisher Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 I would say closer to 5 1/2 than 6 by the size of the girth. Nice fish none the less. Quote
D4u2s0t Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 pickup a cheap scale. problem solved. these posts remind me of the car forums where the guy says "I have a new exhaust, what should i run in the 1/4" lol. I got my scale for less than 10 dollars, and it's accurate enough. Quote

Super User WRB Posted July 15, 2009 Super User Posted July 15, 2009 There was a weight calculator on this site somewhere, however the formula; length X length X girth / 1200 = weight in lbs works OK. Length; bass with closed mouth to center of tail, girth around the widest area, dorsal fin down. WRB Quote
