Super User T-rig Posted July 3, 2009 Super User Posted July 3, 2009 Just got this info from a friend of mine. This monster was caught on a roman made swimbait in lake biwa and supposedly weighed 10.12kg (22.29lbs.) ! Here a couple more pics (the first two. click on the pic for a larger size): http://ameblo.jp/romanmade/
Super User Gatorbassman Posted July 3, 2009 Super User Posted July 3, 2009 22lb 5oz. Enough for a tie but not for the solo record. Stupid rule.
Big Tom Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Simply amazing!!! Thats one ridiculous looking fish!!!
diver_sniper Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 That'll give the boys in Cali a little extra motivation So is anyone disappointed to see the record go over seas? I know that because of the goofy rule it will be considered a tie in the official books. But if their scales are right, we all know amongst ourselves at least that this is the biggest one so far. I honestly cant stop looking at these pics. I went out last night and caught like 4 fish, all of em under 14 inches. I'm still struggling to comprehend that they are the same species as that beast :-?
InLikeFinz Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 I agree, that rule is ridiculous. I'm just stoked to see the fish though!! 8-)
ChazfromVA Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 that fish is a stright brute! It looks like it could down that japanese guy no problem! haha.. but yea that rule is pretty ridiculous.. if the IGFA doesn't act then they are going to have one ticked off crowd of anglers ! ;D
Super User senile1 Posted July 3, 2009 Super User Posted July 3, 2009 That is one heck of a fish! Kudos to the guy that caught it. I see some dates on the website. Was it caught July 2nd? I'm looking for more articles about this. If it is indeed that large, we should be seeing more articles very soon, I would think. Here's a couple in English. http://www.wfn.tv/news/index.php?blog=2756 http://www.fieldandstream.com/photos/gallery/fishing/fly-fishing/where-fish/2009/07/new-world-record-largemouth
