JuniorFisherJJ08 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I fish mostly tournaments and carry a minimum 6 rods and reels with diffrent setups. With a few backups on certain setups. I fish rivers a ton and the fish can change every few hours. How many do you carry? Quote
aarogb Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I currenty carry eight. As soon as I get some money I will have 20. Quote
Tanker4lyfe Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 It really depends on what time of year it is and how i plan on targeting fish. for me usually a crankbait, spinnerbait/chatterbait, jig, swimbait, shakey head, soft jerkbait will do me justice but i always carry an array of different options. SO FOR ME ID SAY ABOUT 6 Quote
Steven Ladner Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I have at least 7 ready at all times for tourneys. I try to make sure I'm ready for any situation Quote
wisturkeyhunter Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 1 swimbait 1 somethings else, usually a plastic of some sort Quote
bigtimfish Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 12 rigged out and ready to go with 1spare reel rigged with 12lb mono as an allaround reel. Quote
D4u2s0t Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I voted 2. one usually has a spinnerbait or some other lure, and the other has a worm on it. both work excellent where I fish, so there's no need for a 3rd setup. I am YET to catch a fish in my lake on anything but these 2 setups, and god knows i've tried lol. Quote
Bass-1 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Between just fun fishing, guiding and tournament fishing, the least I "ever" carry is 6, and the most is 10. I alway carry two spinning outfits and the rest baitcasting. You never know when the fish are going to change and you really need to be prepared to change with them, or get left behind... Quote

frogtog Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 16 in each rod box ready to go. Have them spoled with 8# to 20# depending where I'm headed. If I get ripped off it's going to hurt. 8-) Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I will usually have 5-6 on deck ready! But, 99.9% of the time only one or two get used, LOL! I own over 12 set-ups but don't ever use them. Quote
bassman31783 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 I have 6, working on 7. I need a good spin casting set up. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted June 27, 2009 Super User Posted June 27, 2009 It really depends on the time of the year and what water I'm fishing. If it's spring I'll probably have 14-15 total. If it's summer on a lake I normally fish and I know what the bite will probably be it will be as low as 2 or 3. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted June 27, 2009 Super User Posted June 27, 2009 I carry SIX pre-rigged outfits at all times (I do not tournament fish). In all honesty, three of those setups are chosen by my wife. I find that three pre-rigged outfits is just not enough, and often ask my wife if I can change one of her lures. Though she never refuses, I sense a feeling of possession and try my best to get by with just three outfits. Roger Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted June 27, 2009 Super User Posted June 27, 2009 Nine, because that is all I can safely stow in my canoe, and still have quick access to them. My new canoe will handle 11, with more space between them. Plus a trolling motor. For those who haven't seen it. Quote
midnighthrasher Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 4- my boat has 4 rod tubes so instead of buying quantity i baught quality. Quote

Super User BrianinMD Posted June 28, 2009 Super User Posted June 28, 2009 Only 3... 7ft MH BPS Extreme Trigger - Citica 200D - 40lb PowerPro 6ft 6in MH AllStar - Revo S - 12lb Yozuri Hybrid 6ft 4in M Quantum Code Spinning Combo - 6lb Yozuri Hybrid Not high dollar setups or specific to any certain baits but pretty much covers what situations I run into. Only thing I would like to add at this point would be a decent lightweight BC setup, spinning works well but now addicted to BC now that I started using them..... Quote
Blue Streak Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 I carry 5 to 8 and usually have 4 soft baits tied on. Quote
Super User Paul Roberts Posted June 28, 2009 Super User Posted June 28, 2009 Nine, because that is all I can safely stow in my canoe, and still have quick access to them. You'll never have to tie a knot in the water! Cool rig! Quote
